@zettasyntax do you mind putting the the link to the stats threads please
In order to be considered for institutional grants (given the info on my CSS), do I need to submit signed copies of my parents’ tax returns and W2s? If so, would I be able to submit now, or should I wait for the decision? (Whatever would speed up letting me view my FA package granted I am accepted, which I am doubting at this point haha)
@zettasyntax is it possible if you can share who your counselor was? oops just saw that you shared it but thank you anyways
@ernesto98 Sure, here they are. I’m in the first two

My counselor the first time I applied was Rakin Hall. If you search his name on CC, there was an older thread talking about how somebody was sure to be rejected just because they had him as a counselor =| I don’t know if he’s really that bad, but he’s moved on from USC. My new counselor (the second time I applied) was Clay Busia. He seemed okay at first, but he was rather unresponsive at times and really came off as condescending in a lot of our emails. I was accepted the second time around, so I guess I forgive him for being so unpleasant to chat with, haha
@Anco17 Yeah I’m TTP. Just looked back at the old threads and it doesn’t look pretty. On one hand, Viterbi only accepts 130 transfers per year (so it’s possible some people didn’t post), but stil…
@shrukin1 I second your question. I am also a price applicant and was wondering when they usually accept. I couldn’t find any price applicants on previous threads. Where are you applying from?
@zettasyntax im pretty new to this thread but i just read your acceptance post on one of those links. did you end up going to usc even though you were admitted for your second choice major and spring when you would be entering as a junior? if so, how long did it take you to graduate after? how did you decide between usc and ucla? i havent gotten decisions back but if im accepted to both (comm major intending to minor in film) idk how i would decide!
so guys, I have a quick important question. On my portal, when I went to check the status of my financial aid, I noticed that page was totally different. When I clicked it gave me the option of clicking between “2017-2018 (Includes students admitted for 2018 spring semester)” and “2018-2019”. I’m assuming it’s giving me both options because I applied last year (but was denied) as well. And for both of those pages, there is a section that says eligibility checks. In those columns, for both, there is one that says “Citizenship” and another that says"Satisfactory Academic Progress". BUT on the 2018-2019 one there is an eligibility check that reads “Program of study eligibility has been confirmed.” and this is NOT on the 2017-2018 one. DOES ANYONE HAVE THIS??? DOES IT MEAN ANYTHING?? I’m thinking it doesn’t but it never hurts to ask.
@anontransf I do not have that. I do, however, have something that says, “The Financial Aid Office will not evaluate Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) toward your degree objective until after your first graded semester at the university,” under “Eligibility Checks” for 2018-19.
@anontransf I have the same thing as you do (the three green check marks) but just like @aznboi4981 said, for me it states “The Financial Aid Office will not evaluate Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) toward your degree objective until after your first graded semester at the university”.
a 4 year school in the bay area. how about you @jobsoutofcollege ?
@anontransf hi there i did not apply last year but i also have the 17-18 year as an option. dont know why but i do. anyway, i dont see anywhere under eligibility check that it says what you’re describing. however, i still have docs required so idk if this has something to do with it. also, in regards to the fin. aid docs i have required, do i need to turn those in now even though i havent been admitted yet or can i wait until i get my decision??
@transfer9692 @aznboi4981 Yeah I have the one you guys are describing but I also have one titled “Program of Study” with a subtext that says “Your Program of Study eligibility has been confirmed.” Do you guys have that? If you do (or don’t) do you think it could be an indicator that I got in maybe? The program I applied to chooses an incoming class of 30 and that is a mix of freshmen and transfers and they decide it all at once but they don’t notify the transfers until later to keep with USC’s transfer notification schedule. Do you think this could be a hint that I got in? or am I overthinking it?
@anontransf I see the same thing that you see. Hopefully its a sign!
@dwightsbeetfarm I suggest you turn it in as soon as you can. They expect to have it in sooner so they can give you your financial package as close to your acceptance package as possible.
@anontransf I do not have answer, but I would not get your hopes up. I read through all of the past forums, and I have not seen anyone with that message.
@anontransf Ah I see that too but I don’t think it means anything unfortunately sigh. I think it just means that we passed their eligibility requirements for them to start reviewing our apps.
@transfer9692 @anontransf Can you show me a screenshot? Now I am concerned lol
@aznboi4981 I pm’ed you!
@aznboi4981 could you confirm if you see the same message?
