2018 - 2019 USC Transfer

@rgehr123 I remember the application saying about a link for a portfolio site. Could it double for my CWL?

Also, do the writing prompts change annually?

@StipendAwarded Promts don’t change annually, but that’s not to say they can’t be different next year. Also, I still don’t know what you mean by Creative Work List. Your personal website portfolio and your portfolio list do not count as the same thing, if that’s what you mean.

Any non-TTP Dornsife majors hear back yet?

@dfreeman3 I’m non-TTP and I got an email requesting some AP scores last week and someone else was asked to send in syllabi. That’s about all I’ve seen. They’re probably checking pre-reqs rn. I’m applying for Marshall though.

@shrunkin a community college called saddleback

@dfreeman3 I am applying to Dornsife (Human Biology) as a rising SO and I have not heard.

Have all the GEs knocked out. Only pre-req. completed is Bio.

Not sure what to think. I have a 4.0 gpa.

@jobsoutofcollege I attend saddleback too!

when did you applied? @NotLonelyIsland

@clan123 I applied on Feb. 1. 4.0 gpa and I’m using the AP Calc BC test for the math pre-req.

@zettasyntax what you just described is the main reason why I ant to transfer out of UCLA. It’s a great school for certain majors, but our economics department is very weak and nonchalant compared to other departments. Hopefully, USC is a better fit!

I have a question maybe someone can answer, Is my counselor assigned to me based of the location of my home address or where I currently live. For example would I get the counselor in charge of manhattan(current schooling) or LA(home)?

@angeleno13 I think it’s based on where you go to school.

@NotLonelyIsland I was thinking that, but I’ve gone to a few colleges now in different areas. Would that be too confusing for them? Only saying that because I hope my home counselor is the one because I’ve been in contact with him so much easily for the past two years

Are you automatically rejected if you do not have one of the prereqs?

@angeleno13 Hm yeah not sure about that. Probably according to the most recent school you attended. It wouldn’t be confusing for them, but I hope your home counselor has a say in your decision! I’m sure the committee talks to each other, but who knows man.

@aznboi4981 Yeah I think so, but you should be ok since you explained your situation. They shouldn’t straight up reject you since you sent in an explanation with the syllabus. Don’t worry too much fam.

@NotLonelyIsland Yeah I’m going crazy over this… Especially now because I received my course transfer credit evaluation from Tulane, and so far, only 3 courses were accepted (Macro, Micro, and Astronomy). My math (which I am most concerned about in regard to USC), history, and first year seminar course were rejected. They want syllabi for the rest of my classes though. Going to submit syllabi for the 3 rejected classes also just to try lol. :((

@aznboi4981 Yeah man I can’t imagine having to go through that. I’d probably go crazy too :)). Good luck dude

@aznboi4981 Yessss, I got my credit evaluation from UofRichmond and they’re only accepting about 30 out of my 86 credits so I’m dying to hear back from USC. I really don’t think they’ll straight up reject you though, as long as you were clear in your explanations you should be fine!

@aznboi4981 they’d only reject you about your prereqs if you won’t have them done by the end of this semester. if you have one of them right now, they’ll ask for your spring grades.

@aznboi4981 @durtysouth even that isn’t necessarily true. In past threads they’ve accepted people, sans SGR, who have pre reqs in progress. It’s best that you’ve completed your math and English requirements though, as those seem to be the ones they’re really sticklers about.
