hey i go to a UC and did bad my first fall quarter. i did amazing for my winter quarter and was wondering if i am supposed to sent in the winter quarter grades for them to see as well? i am planning to transfer as a soph. by the way to marshall
@giriboy Many people sent in their winter grades, including myself, without USC asking for them. If it helps your application, just send them in.
@laneline I applied as a junior to Annenberg also. This thread has me nervous when I read about how competitive it is!
You should be sending in any available grades.
@transfer201831 Same!! I have friends at USC and they said internal transfers TO Annenberg is super easy. Didn’t know externally transferring to Annenberg was so competitive…
@OmaNebr As much as I love writing, there was one aspect of WRIT 340 that I did not enjoy. We had to give a final presentation and that went horribly wrong for me, lol. We were supposed to talk for 10 minutes minimum, but so many students were talking for 20+ minutes. The class was smaller than the average writing class, so there was enough time to allow this. I spoke for what must have been 5 minutes and I was so embarrassed. I had such an interesting topic too. I was talking about data leaks like the Netflix Prize competition, but I just drew a blank. My brain stops working at times too
Im in the same situation! Freshman at a UC applying to Marshall as a sophomore transfer. My counselor said that winter grades should be sent in as unofficial transcripts via the youSC portal, even if they aren’t asked for.
Is anyone else still waiting for an admission decision with no updates to the system?
@zettasyntax I plan on coordinating with my USC counselor for transferring after the appeal notification date (in early May; yes, I know nearly all appeals fail).
I have a couple of questions. I would greatly appreciate it if someone helped me out! I’ll be going to UCI for my freshman year and I want to transfer to USC sophomore year. I’m aware that I need 30 credit so my High School record isn’t considered. My biggest concern is that I was accepted to UCI as a PoliSci major and I’m not sure if I want to do that. I have always had a creative side and I think that film would be the major for me. I understand that it is extremely difficult to get into, and I seem to be at a roadblock, any suggestions?
Hey Guys… New to the thread. I just got a SGR I believe. On my portal it says “Click here to submit mid-year grades online.”
@gearsekandou well…darn…thankfully my second choice major is outside of Annenberg. I hope they’ll at least consider me for that! #:-S
I also got an SGR. Under the check your application status page, it now says: “We have requested your spring term grades. We mailed you specific instructions on how to submit your grades for expedited processing”
@uscc2020 - SGR is spring grade request - mid year grades are after your first semester or first quarter. Did you send those or post them to your portal? Any available grades you all have should be sent in and on your portal.
What does a Spring Grade Request mean?
For some students, we are unable to make a decision with the information we currently have. We may request to see your final spring grades to assist us in making a decision. If you received a spring grade request, please send us your grades as soon as they are available. Different schools finish at different times, so the faster you can send us your grades, the faster we can get an admission decision back to you.
We are aware that many semester system schools finish in May and many quarter systems in June. Our admission counselors are aware of this timeline, and we will be accommodating to each individual school, but again, do not delay in sending us your grades if we asked for them.
same didn’t get that email applied for PR first choice and COMM as second. im going crazy, just wanna hear back already! I’m from a california CC and have a 3.95 gpa, so nervous!
@collegerose Aw man I thought you wouldn’t get one
@NotLonelyIsland I was really hoping to not get an SGR either but I was also not really surprised seeing as how most sophomore applicants receive one. Hopefully you don’t get one so you won’t have to wait as long! :((
@CADREAMIN Wait… It was system glitch. It went away now.
Has everyone had a good experience with their counselors?
@collegerose I hope so too but if you got one, I’m probably gonna get one too
@collegerose I am surprised you got an SGR with your stats. I guess it is better than a rejection though.
