2018 - 2019 USC Transfer

@vegastransfer Even though I’ve completed all my prerequisites, I guess it’s most likely because I’ve only completed one whole semester so far. That’s okay though, guess I’ll be waiting until July haha :)>-

@collegerose That makes more sense. Hopefully it all works out and you get an acceptance letter this summer! Fight on!

I will be a junior applicant when I apply later this year. I will have all of my major prerequisites completed by the end of the fall semester so I am hoping to avoid the SGR in favor of straight acceptance/rejection. Getting an SGR and not hearing back until July would put me in a tough spot being an OOS applicant. Making a moving to LA with a month to spare would be hard :((

@uscc2020 my assigned counselor was a terrible person. She did not respond to any of my emails or phone calls, including voice mail messages. Luckily, I contacted some other counselor. He really helped me. Sometimes your assigned counselor might not be helpful even if it’s their work!

@inception97 By any chance, were her initials CV?

I got a message from the portal to send my final HS transcripts with grad date. I guess the hs transcripts I sent didn’t include my senior year. I hope it’s a good sign that my app has been looked at or has nearly been decided.

@vegastransfer thank you! good luck to you too

@aznboi4981 no. It was NM

@inception97 Ah, okay. I saw you were from NY (I’m from NJ), so I thought there was a chance. My counselor was the same way.

@jayc3r When was the msg received/sent? School you applied to?

Is anyone interested in possibly getting housing near USC. I am looking to Sublease a room ($1200) or a spot ($600) at a very spacious 2 bed/2 bath apartment (5 mins bike from campus). You would be living with me (CS major) and another person (Accounting major)!

do you think it’s worth it to email my counselor about when i’ll get a decision? or is it redundant

@IwcWombat Possibly me (if I’m accepted!)

@dg2017 I wouldn’t do it. We just have to have patience… easier said than done, but we gotta

@anzboi4981 I received that email 4/6 and I applied to annenberg

I just got a sgr two days ago, I’m a junior Dornsife (International Relations) applicant with a 3.71 and 60+ units, could the sgr be a bad sign? I honestly was not expecting to be sgr’d.

@a_licon Under your FA page, when you click 18-19, and under the section “Eligibility Checks,” does it say “Program of Study confirmed,” or something long those lines?

For those who have been accepted, current and past, did you all have the tab “Program of Study Confirmed” under your “Eligibility Checks” FA page prior to getting the acceptance letter/package?

@jayc3r It would really depend on your counselor. I got an email about sending in my GED in early May. I had sent a copy the year before when I tried to transfer, so I figured they still had a copy on file. Anyway, I didn’t wind up hearing anything until early June - over a month later, lol :stuck_out_tongue: At least it is comforting to know that your application is being reviewed already  I’ve always wondered if my counselor getting around to my application so late is why I somehow heard past the typical deadline.

@FutureTrojan100 You could definitely go for it  I just wouldn’t make both of your major choices in SCA. It really is one of the most difficult schools to get into - if not the most difficult. I only remember like one dude in my orientation session that proudly proclaimed to have been admitted into SCA. You could make film your first major and maybe put something else if you truly want to study at USC. I was accepted for my second choice major, so they really do consider both options! If your heart is only set on film though, that’s totally understandable too. It’s just good to have options though in case you change your mind later on. Tons of people change majors once or twice before deciding on the one for them.

@a_licon I looked at your past post with stats and I’m surprised you got an SGR as well. With 60 units, you more than meet USC’s requirement of consistent full-time attendance. Were you taking anything important like a math or writing course? Did you rack up a lot of units recently? Those are the only things I can think of as to why you would get an SGR.

@aznboi4981 For what it’s worth, I don’t remember my FA status/message changing at all when I got my SGR. And it wasn’t something I checked before I got accepted. We obsessively checked other things back in my days, lol. :stuck_out_tongue:

Has anyone got acceptances / rejections yet or is it just SGR’s?

^^^^

I don’t want to get anyone’s hopes up with this, but I was rejected last year, and I didn’t have “Program of Study” being confirmed under Eligibility Checks for FA 2017-2018. For this year 2018-2019, I have it listed, but I’m not sure if it means anything.
