Are you accepting admission? Not sure, waiting to hear back from more places in January and February
Type and Amount of Scholarship Awarded: Have not heard yet but I am really hoping for Provost!
I emailed yesterday and they told me I don’t qualify for merit. I thought I’d share since I know others are waiting. My guess is that they only care about scores and your GPA means nothing.
3.98 uw
4.75 w (core)
1290 SAT
400 volunteer hours
Misc clubs
whaaat? @UCFin2018 how do you not qualify? did u make sure u sent every test and that your SAT total is 1290?? I’m surprised you didn’t get bronze because I got pegasus silver (in state) and mine wasn’t that much better.
Oh by the way, I do not know how to edit a post but my information was posted previously and I had a 1350 SAT total and I got Pegasus Silver in state. I know @DarkFlameCorn had the same score so I think this means that you will also receive silver as well @ him. I am curious about the cutoff for Gold; I’m assuming it’s 1400 SAT total/30 ACT because I saw someone with a 1370 total that also got silver.
yes, when you log in to MyUCF and go to the undergraduate application status it will tell you at the top that your application was deferred @bookwormkayla
I’m gonna assume that it was solely based on test scores because your GPA is really good and they didn’t give you one. But your SAT is still decent so that’s mindboggling to me that you didn’t get one.^to my last post
@DarkFlameCorn you don’t email anyone, just log into your myucf account, the scholarship will be under undergraduate admissions—>student center—> to do list
We found in the past scholarships seemed like they were based solely on ACT/SAT scores which seems crazy. I would think a near perfect GPA with a crazy-high weighted GPA would be a pretty solid indicator of college success. I could only assume they are trying to pump up some stat about their average standardized test scores. In the past (and it seems now, for in state at least), >= 32 ACT Provost, 30-31 ACT Gold, 29 Silver not sure bronze.
my guess about in-state scholarships:
Provost- 32+ ACT, 1450+ SAT
Pegasus Gold- 30-31 ACT, 1400-1440 SAT
Pegasus Silver- 29 ACT, 1350-1390 SAT
Pegasus Bronze- 27-28 ACT, 1300-1340 SAT
if anyone has anything that might switch these numbers up… add it to the thread!
The only reason I think Gold is 1400+ SAT is because someone on here with a 1370 got silver and i think it would be weird if they cut it off at 1380 or 1390 but maybe they did? idk more people gotta post before we can figure that part out.
