2019-2020 USC Transfer

How many ppl from TTP found out at the end of March? I hope I"m not one of the guys who has to wait till May.

same @jj1999 !

Hi @vinukh I was admitted to USC SCA for Film Production as a freshman in 2016. I wasn’t able attend due to financial issues, so I decided to go the CC route and apply to transfer. When I first applied, I received an email in early February from a SCA professor to set up a phone call interview. Sounds like you’re on the right track! Good luck!

@CADREAMIN one of transcripts still hasn’t made it to them. I’ve told them about this transcript only having one grade on it that isn’t even in my major. Does this one absent transcript mean they haven’t even looked at my application yet?

@bksyazd Are you concerned with a processing error, or are classes just not done? Who did you tell the school it is coming from or USC? Trying to figure out what’s up. If you are concerned with a processing error and you have a legit transcript, I would send a print out to your advisor in an email so they have something for now and keep working the other end to straighten it out. Or go into your school’s registrar and get is squared asap. There is a very good chance that some transfer apps have not been looked at closely for a lot of people. They are focused on the reg admits going out tomorrow, and a lot of transfers still have pending classes they need to finish. But get this transcript thing squared as quickly as you can.

@CADREAMIN this is a class that finished last fall and I contacted directly my councilor from USC. She knows the full situation and says it’s fine but I feel like I’m still at an unnecessary disadvantage. I tried uploading an unofficial copy of my grade into the portal but I have to label the upload as a particular item in the drop down menu and it doesn’t have a tab for unnofficial transcripts.

Pick something and upload it - I think there is a general supplement tab (not sure) or pick the closest thing. Also send it to your counselor, tell her where you uploaded, but that you are sending her to be sure she gets it.

And hopefully you requested an official from the school…

Turns out the new USC president Carol Folt, was also a community college transfer to UCSB from Santa Barbara city college. Maybe with her background, she’ll keep USC’s push for the transfer program going just like Nikias did?

@ballout What’s the transfer program? Or do you mean just the typical ccc to usc transfer route

@taki123 to my knowledge the only known transfer program is the TTP or the Trojan Transfer Program which is normally given to legacy or ppl with high stats that they couldn’t admit that year and encourage to transfer the next year. Essentially, get a 3.6+ GPA (preferably 3.7 or 3.8 and up) and you have priority admission. Not guaranteed admission, but better to have it than not.

Hi guys. I have a problem here please help me out. I chose Mathematics as my major in the application (there was no applied math as a choice but there is applied and computational math). But my major at my current institution is applied math and in the supplemental essays I wrote something like:” I am chosing applied maths as my major…”
Would this affect my admission to usc? I am so upset because I chose math as my major but I concluded with APPLIED math in the essay.
PLEASE HELP ME OUT???

At least that is not as bad as me. I used a general essay for “why transfer?” on many of my apps and forgot to change the name of a school for one of them. Lol

Has there been a TTP student who got the grades, took the pre reqs, got 30 units, but still got rejected?

@jj999 You will be fine. Relax, it’s gonna work out. But nothing anyone says is gonna make you feel better until you have packet. So you can ask the same question 20 times over many months, but until packet is in hand, they don’t mean much.

@CADREAMIN thanks. I just wanna know if its happened before

With a 4.0, the right classes and TTP, you are virtually guaranteed to get in. But they are in charge. Can’t wait to hear your good news.

Lmao apparently someone from socal (senior applicant) got their package today

Anxiously waiting for an update from USC…

@jj9999 only speculation and internet rumor so far. I have several acceptance boxes here so that is easy to photo - I would feel more certainty if someone posted pic of acceptance letter. Sometimes people are looking at old posts from January and don’t realize it. Could it be a one off/early delivery? Maybe, idk.

But when they truly land in Socal, we know it here from posts flying in.

@CADREAMIN I’m at a UC school based on a quarter system. Should I send my winter quarter grades when they come out next week or wait until they ask me? My GPA is dropping this quarter so I’m not sure what to do… also if I have a GPA over 3.7, am I considered competitive?
