It is on reviewing process i think, hope to hear back soon…
@CADREAMIN thanks for so much useful info, are we going to receive some updates recently in the online portal or we will be directly sent out the package? which goes first?
Package first, portal updates a few days (usually 3) later so there is time to get package. They like students to get the mailbox moment, even transfers.
I’m very excited to hear if any of your TTP students were admitted!
@bksyazd You will get good news, it is just a matter of when! Hang in there, it can be a short or long wait - sooo random. Let’s hope for short!
I’m gonna be in another country this summer so hopefully my wait isn’t till then, but then again I just gotta hang in there
@CADREAMIN thank you for your encouragement. This is my third time applying to USC. If I get in it will be a dream come true! But if I don’t then thats alright too. It genuinely will make me happy congratulating others on their admittance though
thanks @CADREAMIN , it sounds make student excited, hopefully can get some updates soon
Marshall applicant checking in. 3.8 GPA from city college(s), calculus and writing requirements fulfilled, been going to city college for over 5 years while working full & part time, have about 90 credit hours. Really hoping my proven track record makes them see me as a good investment, as they repeatedly said this was the most important thing during their orientation. What are my chances?
@fluidflea I want to say that I had maybe four courses that were 8 week sessions? (micro econ, macro, two anthro courses). There was no distinction on my transcript from a regular 16 week version of the course. If you’re able to manage classes at a faster pace to rack up some units, it could be a good idea I tried taking three winter courses at my CC and that almost bested me. Those classes were about 5 or 6 weeks long. That was a little much.
@ckidd1991 I had 100 units from my CC, I’m part of the high unit club. So many units with a great GPA is definitely a good thing. That’s why a lot of freshman applicants usually get an SGR; they don’t have the units. I think that was part of my issue with USC. I was only going to CC part-time (not even half-time) for two years. There was even a semester where I took a whopping 4 units. I tried to ramp things up by taking 18 fall units, 9 winter units, and 21 spring units. I was ultimately rejected that application cycle and I sometimes wonder if a contributing factor might have been that I only had 1 year of full-time attendance. Anyway, I think your chances are about as good as they can be if you’ve completed the calc requirement and with your GPA Good luck!
@zettasyntax This is my main concern. I have been at my CC for 3 years and my units have gone like this: 10,11, 8(summer), 17, 9, 3(summer), 14, 14(current). I have a 3.96 and have completed Calc w/ Analytic Geometry 1 and English MO1BH with A’s in both. I just worked a ton in some semesters and couldn’t keep a full schedule.
@zettasyntax Same worries here too. I was full time for every semester these past two years except spring 2018. I took 15 units in fall 2017, 10 units in spring 2018, 12 units in summer 2018, 30 units in fall 2018, and am currently taking 29 units for spring 2019.
Perhaps they might ding me for not being full time in spring 2018? Who knows I didn’t exactly explain why I took so little units that semester.
@zettasyntax Forgot to mention I also took 6 units at CC during senior year of high school.
can really see all of us putting lot of effort, hope we can finally get the package from USC, keep going on!!!
Hi! I was offered TTP, but I never went to meet with a counselor (due to not being able to fly out… and really just not being sure if i was gonna try to transfer or not). Does anyone have any idea if it would still be indicated in my file.
@yoongologist from my understanding of the program, the TTP WAS offered to you and it was up to you to reach out to the counselors back in May. We live out of state and were fortunate enough to make a special trip to USC In June to meet with the counselor. Prior to contacting USC in May, my daughter’s hs counselor informed us that an in person meeting was not necessary and that USC had in the past made accommodations for out of state students to discuss their future plans. Someone had mentioned on this forum that if a student did not reach out to USC to discuss their intent to pursue transferring, then it was understood that the student was not part of the TTP program. However, this is second hand knowledge on my part so please do your research before taking my word 100%. Good luck.
What if you were offered TTP, but didn’t pursue it that year, and decided to apply the following year?
I was offered TTP when I was denied as a Freshman in 2017… Didn’t apply to transfer to USC in 2018, but applied this year to transfer to USC
Okay, I assumed so but was just curious Thanks for answering!
Hi all! I’ve been keeping a track of this thread for a bit, I’m really grateful for the awesome people who have been giving us some piece of mind. I’m a transfer from a CCC and I had a question. I just finished an 8 week course and received an A which bumped my GPA to the next level, should I resubmit my transcript again (this would be the 3rd transcript sent in)? or is there another way to update/anything else I can do? or should I just wait?
