2019-2020 USC Transfer

@Snekfest Thanks for the website! Seems like most of my GEs are transferable.

@CADREAMIN @zettasyntax So I recently checked the articulation agreement between USC and my local college. I’ve completed most of the GE’s which are A, B, C, E, F, G, H and completed Writing Lower Division Requirements. However, I haven’t completed Category D, which is named Life Sciences. Will this raise a red flag in my application or am I okay?

@CADREAMIN @zettasyntax is it possible for us transfers to earn a full-ride at USC? I am dirt poor and have told them a heck of a story in my opinion. Combined with my course load and extracurricular activities I think I deserve a chance for this.

@GoodAfternoonSir You are required to take two GE’s at USC anyway. You will be fine just missing that one requirement. You actually did more than you had to do.

@GoodAfternoonSir check the USC estimation calculator. They say they meet all need which will include work study/ possible loans. In addition to grants of course and other scholarships. What will remain will be distributed to work study/ loans again. Not sure if those loans will be restricted to gov or not. This is all assuming you are a US and not international applicant ofc.

@vegastransfer thanks a lot for the top about the 2 classes did not know about this. @sagaciousforever read his comment might help as well  GL

Looking at 2017 and 2018 trends, transfer students start hearing back by March 30/31… I hope that’s the same for us this year ?

@taki123 That’s TTP students who usually hear back by the end of March. They were almost admitted as a freshman so they have priority for their transfer plans.

Regular transfers will hear back starting the end of April.

@Snekfest Thanks! That calms me down a lot. I completed a lot of GEs and I am just missing the lower-division English.

I wish I will hear back in April or early May. Two of my friends from my current school who applied last year both got in (Marshall). They did not get any SGR but they heard back in June.

I’ve heard that USC starts reviewing non-TTP transfer applicants starting April, so March is just the month to ensure all documents are collected.

Hey guys, I am applying to Marshall for Business Administration and I was wondering that if I get a SGR, what exactly will they be looking for?

I am currently an Arts and Sciences student taking Financial Accounting, Macroeconomic Theory, a humanities class, and a language class. If it is the case that I get an SGR, should I assume that they would like to look at my grade for Financial Accounting? Or overall general grades?

Grades and classes you took.

They just asked me for my winter quarter grades. I got an email from admissions which started with “Thanks for applying” and my heart dropped because I thought I got rejected.

@lolallama23 my friend got a similar thing. We both go to a quarter system school, but I haven’t gotten emailed yet

I do have a 4.0 and am an engineer tho

Did any TTP hear back from USC?

Nope

Does anyone know when they start sending out decisions? The end of May seems a little late considering most SIR are due June 1.

no, the website states the applicant would receive either a decision or a SGR by May 31st. so if you are required to submit a Spring Grade, it makes sense the decision would be after May.

I have heard of a couple rejections already, but no acceptances. Expect some acceptances anytime (likely TTP, but not all TTP, they drag those out too), but they dribble out all acceptances for the next couple months, with a few waves in April. No, don’t know exactly when or what majors.

@CADREAMIN Are the rejections TTP students or regular?

@CADREAMIN It’s crazy that someone got rejected already because I thought the admission office starts to review applications from non-TTP students starts in April.
