@CADREAMIN I didn’t understand your answer. Was the rejection TTP? Yikes. Thx for repeating
@CADREAMIN how have they sent rejections when they havent evaluated the transfers yet…?
Regular transfer applicants, not TTP rejections. Know them, so not from a post. And people don’t share they got rejected unless they really get rejected. If someone is gonna fib about something, they fib about getting accepted, ha. While on the subject, while they don’t actually lie to you, the admissions office does tell people things to get them off the phone and minimize calls. We see this post every year, “I just called admissions and they said acceptances will be out two weeks from now by xyz date,” and bam - they show up an hour or day later. They aren’t going to tell you a single one has been sent because they don’t want to be flooded with calls from obsessed applicants.
Some TTP acceptances have been received very close to regular acceptances (some even same as) every year in years past, so I expect that to happen this year. But ever since last year, when a
4.0 TTP applicant had to wait incredibly long to hear on what should have been a sure admit, it is best just to plan for later. Keep in mind the people that post here or on reddit or wherever is a very small pool. A lot of kids I know aren’t following any of these, mine don’t, never have. They think I am nuts to be on this kind of thing.
So don’t go into a tizzy, you weren’t rejected and these transfer acceptances really draaaaag out over the next two months. There will be a blast of them now and then (usually around April 10th give or take a few days), but most of it is a constant sputter. Don’t start worrying yet or it will be a very very long wait. Good luck all!
@CADREAMIN Thank you so much for your detailed explanation.
Are you saying that non-TTP applicants may hear back around April 10th? I think there is a pattern from the last few years that applicants either hear back in March 20 ish or April 20 ish. After the end of April, everything is random.
Thank you so much!!! @CADREAMIN
Nothing in stone obviously, but the pattern has been a couple waves in April, not giant crashing breakers, but enough that people take notice. Agree with April 20th, but there seems to be some action around the 9-10th as well. Sometimes I just say the 15th to split the difference of the two. Let’s hope for a chunk earlier than the 20th, but ya, they are reviewing all the time. They don’t just leave the app sitting in a closed folder until April 1st. Often time the advisors are following it all along the way. If they are doing their job, they know who is applying long before the official file review.
@CADREAMIN I see! So pretty much anytime from now I could possible be notified with a decision.
Yes, but so you don’t go insane, set your mind at May 1 and see what happens between now and then. Otherwise it is just so brutal checking portal or for the mail 10 (probably more like 50) times a day. Keep busy, get off of here too, ha, this will make you nuts too.
@CADREAMIN I won’t return home until April 19th so I don’t have access to the mail! But yes, an email regarding decision available on portal can still find me before April 19th.
@CADREAMIN I definitely agree with your advice of not checking the portal until the date draws nearer. I know a few classmates of mine are going nuts with anticipation, especially since they’ve applied to other universities that they may have to choose between. I’m trying to concentrate on just maintaining my GPA, but it’s hard not to be anxious as well ^^;
@turntechgm There is no point to check the portal every day. You will be notified that there is an update on the portal via email.
@turntechgm Yes, enjoy your last bit of semester since you may move to another school soon.
Don’t stress, as it does not help anything. Watch some movies, do some fun activities, and hang out with friends from your current school. They can be valuable network for you in the future if you could develop good relationship with them.
College is all about making high-quality friends and having a great time.
Which portal is it that we will be notified in? I’ve noticed there are multiple different sites that I can log in to… I’m assuming the one with all of our documents listed, right?
@transferusc88 what other sites are there?
My DD goes to a 4 year UC and has applied to transfer thru TTP for sophomore year. She got into DSP(Delta Sigma Pi) business fraternity at current university and also has met the GPA requirement. If she gets admitted, does she automatically get into DSP at USC. It was a lot of work to get inducted. Does anyone know if they have to rush again if they have to part of the fraternity at USC.
new to the thread. this is the longest one I’ve seen, any idea when decisions will be sent out?
Former transfer applicant here–don’t worry too much guys, I got my acceptance package on the last day that they said it would arrive, and it freaked me out! I was a spring admit, so that could have been part of it, but don’t lose hope if it’s nearing the deadline and you still haven’t gotten anything.
Thank you so much!!! I am grateful to here this @Shuisazn
I have a few questions: Is it true that we get our physical package before the acceptance email? What is the reason that they accept some people for spring and not fall? Do they consider us for our second major or no? I’m so nervous I want to know alreadyyy!!!
I just heard the news that the freshmen acceptance rate was 11%
now I’m getting more nervous lol
