2019-2020 USC Transfer

@cadreamin…she’s a rock star in our eyes, for sure! She’ll be successful wherever she goes. If it’s “No.” for undergrad, then she has USC in her vision for grad school.

She’s not stressing. It’s me. But I can tell that you understand the parental emotion in all of this. You’re the Master Po around here!

I’ve seen a lot of people that are skeptical in these threads because of the whole college admission scandal.

If anything, (perhaps #unpopularopinion), it is giving us a better chance of getting in because people may have withdrawn their application.

Don’t get me wrong (if proven), it is a absolutely horrible story BUT I can see why someone would get so upset that they would not want to go there.

Maybe it doesn’t change anything at all.

Haha just a random thought I had now.

Anyways, I find that interesting because I am a journalism major. Where are my j-school kids at?

I’m super pumped to hear back. What did you guys choose for essays?

hey can someone guide me as to when USC sends out their decisions
I am an international transfer and have applied for CS
GPA:3.75
applied for junior year

My daughter transferred as a sophomore last year (she was not a Trojan transfer) and they told her in July. I think it was around the 10th.

@symonaidanasa did they request SGR from her though?

could we start hearing acceptances/rejections from both TTP & non-TTP any day now? good luck everyone

hi. I am a ttp student attending a CA community college looking to transfer as a sophomore. I’m starting to get extremely nervous and anxious about the acceptances. i will have a cumulative gpa of 3.77 and I have literally cried myself to sleep every night over this decision. someone please let me know if this gpa sounds like it will be okay. any bit of word helps. thank you so much

Idk what TTP is. Is that a California resident thing? I’m from Arizona

@ttpbaby23 you are still above the gpa that they ask in the unofficial “agreement”. Even if you didnt get in this year, since TTP is valid 2 years you would get in the following year. Dont worry too much about it and just work hard this semester rather than get down about it. Id they see a rise in GPA that will look VERY GOOD. USC loves a psoitive trend in students

@ttpbaby23 it is utterly nerve wracking but relax, you really should be fine. That’s a great gpa for TTP and assume you took the right classes. But you won’t feel great till you have acceptance in hand, I get that. Hang in there!

Nobody got decision yet?

@ttpbaby23 . I’m also a TTP-er from CA and it is so difficult, I know. But really, even with a GPA and classes and whatnot being in place. Nothing will help until you have a decision. I’m also checking this all the time waiting for someone to have a decision. But ultimately, we just have to wait. I know. This is ridiculously stressful.

For you information: There is no point checking the portal every day. You will be notified via email when the decision comes out. So do not panic and just do something you enjoy before the decision reveals.

@sagaciousforever not sure about USC but already had 2 college give decisions without email. One of them was an acceptance too! So hoping USC will actually email but the constant checking eases the wait to some degree for me personally and perhaps others.

@Snekfest Based on what I know, USC always send you an email for the status change in portal. However, your physical package arrives a few days earlier than the email.

Also, congrats man! Which one did you get in and which one waitlisted/rejected?

It’s a portal update, not an email.

Tons of the posts like above last year (and years before that, etc.) They update portal. You may get an email later saying to check for update, but not even sure that happens. It’s a portal update with package mailed out ahead of that. They hope you get package first, some do, some don’t and get it after portal update. In the past they have sent and email a few days after portal update (and package arrives) to make sure you know to check, but it is long after portal update.

@CADREAMIN Two of my friends who applied to USC last year both got an email asking them to check the portal.

Then they were like 3 days late checking…they send the email as final reminder to backup the portal update and after package is mailed and hopefully received. But portal update is long before email if people are checking.

@CADREAMIN I see! If that’s the case, that means my friends didn’t check it until the email arrived.

I will just check it once I week so I do not stress out.

I am wondering if it is reliable that some transfer applicants recently got rejected.

Also, is it true that TTP students are more likely to hear back at the beginning/end of May? Non-TTP junior transfers are more likely to hear back at the end of April or beginning of May?

That’s why they send the email after the portal and package is sent to make sure the applicant sees the news somehow. Yes it is reliable that some were rejected, I have been PMing with some of them. Notification is too random - some TTPs hear end of March and early April, but there are plenty of posts well into May by TTPs or even July, ugh, that is awful. It depends on so many components that generalizations just don’t fit. Some of the TTPs abroad were still waiting into late May, but it doesn’t mean every abroad student waits that long. I do know June 1 is target that will be hit for the majority.

I set up a transfer decisions/stats thread so those that hear, please post your details there!!! Last year posts were made March 30th.
