D got accepted today, December 3 around 5 pm. She is so excited! Tulane is her first choice!

I submitted in the last week of oct for EA… I haven’t heard back yet?! im worried I really like the school

Congratulations! What were her stats? I am still trying to follow Fallenchemist’s advice and breath…but it gets harder and harder to do.

Does Tulane email you that your admission decision is ready or do you have to keep checking your application status?

@theaterdancer you have to keep checking Gibson to see your decision. However usually within a week you will receive official package with merit aid etc (assuming you’re accepted).

@Theaterdancer-You do have to keep checking your status. You won’t get an email but you WILL get a snail-mail letter. The letter will probably arrive several days after your status is posted online but, if checking regularly starts to make you crazy, you can always just wait for the letter to show up in the mail. The online info just tells you if you’ve been admitted but the letter provides information about merit awards, if any, and honors program status, if you’re a contender for that. Good luck!

so i am wondering if the art portfolio submission can be holding up a decision? any yet hear back with an art submission.

Hey everyone! Okay, so Tulane received all of my materials on October 15th and I have yet to hear if I have been accepted or denied. I am extremely worried at this point if I will be defered, although I never thought this would happen. I have strong extracurriculars, a 3.80 GPA UW GPA, and a 32 ACT. Should I email my admissions counselor about this or not worry at all??

Oh, and I’m from Tennessee

@Epicorangeninja‌

Frankly in your case I would wait. Obviously I cannot see your essays, but based on what you gave your chances look good. You fall into what I consider the “sweet spot” of Tulane admissions. Really strong student but just short of Ivy level stats. Put another way, you fall into the upper 25 percentile for Tulane. I am assuming you did the “Why Tulane” essay. Were you able to show any other interest like attending a local session or visiting campus?

My daughter is also from TN and has not heard yet. Hoping you both hear soon. I haven’t noticed any TN acceptances on CC yet. Good luck to you.

Can someone who was accepted please tell me what their message on Gibson was before acceptance? Mine just changed to “your decision is pending review”. I heard that means that I am most likely deferred. Can anyone confirm this? I’m a nervous wreck :((

so excited to be accepted!
act 32
gpa 89.4/100
lots of demonstrated interest and ECs
go wave!!

If I had to guess I would say that means your app has been pulled off the stacks and is now (finally) in the hands of an admissions officer. Don’t get down on yourself! Do you mind if I ask where you’re from? @emilyv1997‌

@Epicorangeninja. My last post was directed to you but I apparently messed up the tag. Good luck

Its all good  I recall that there was one student who posted on cc who got in from TN with a 33 ACT. This got my hopes up, but I still haven’r heard a thing. Although I never visited, I did write the why tulane essay

@Epicorangeninja. My DD did visit, has a 34 and 3.9 GPA. So, we are trying not to read anything into no response. Fingers crossed for you both!

This is killing me…sigh…I applied through the “special” application they sent me, months in advanced. Can’t travel so tried demonstrating interest over email. Urghhhh

has anybody been deferred? will everyone who is deferred be notified simultaneously?
