• Very good LORs
 • ECs are not numerous but quality and continuous

This semester I have a 4.0 UW (so far), and hope that will help my chances in the next round of admissions!

S got his acceptance on Sunday and today got the letter saying he had gotten the Academic Achievement Scholarship ($20,000).

He is extremely excited!

Accepted earlier today!
I have a 33 ACT, a 3.76 UW GPA and 4.21 W. So excited! Lots of extracurriculars and leadership and I thought my essay was pretty good (might be biased though). Good luck to everyone deferred and still waiting!

I still haven’t gotten anything yet:( so so nervous. Is there any chance they’d announce during the weekend?

Just got deferred with a 2140 SAT and a 32 ACT with 4.0/4.6 GPA. I’m not upset because I just got accepted to Vanderbilt tonight as well! Good luck to all the applicants wherever you end up! I’m so glad my college search is over!

Just another example of what I have been saying. Tulane admissions has a nose for these things. 100%? No, but pretty amazing.

Congrats on Vandy, @classof2015WHS‌ . Fantastic school, beautiful campus.

@kelseyvu‌

Yes. I expect there will be decisions over the weekend.

First, let me say that I feel your pain those who are still waiting. Ugh. Daughter was ACCEPTED EA today at 4:05!!! Total torture waiting because we started to think something was wrong in her application b/c others were accepted w/ lower stats who had applied later than she did. Maybe not great letter of recommendation, or ??? such awful worries. To be fair there were 3 more days, but… I couldn’t even come on CC for a week b/c I was so stressed w/ the speculation (pathetic, I know).

Decision: Accepted
SAT I: 2300 Composite, 800 Reading, 720 Math, 780 Writing
Unweighted GPA (out of 4.0): 3.71 Top 7%
APs: 9 took 5 tests all 5’s and one 4

Extracurriculars:
Theater, dance, mock trial, camp counselor
Volunteer/Community Service: OK
Essays: answered why Tulane, I thought essays were good, but who knows??
Teacher Recommendations: Didn’t read

Reflection:
Strengths: SAT, visited, showed interest
Weaknesses: Unweighted GPA; not a lot of time to volunteer
Why you think you were accepted/deferred/rejected: I don’t know.
Where else you are applying or have already applied: Maryland, Rhodes, Rice, Emory

Forgot to add that her status was always something like “complete and waiting review” before she was accepted.

@fallenchemist‌ thank you
@gettingaclue My status has been like that since forever. I’ve been obsessively refreshing my email inbox and still nothing yet. Anyway, that’s awesome. Congrats to your daughter!

Congratulations to you son, @zebrarunner‌! It was a long wait!

Congrats to those who were accepted today. No decision yet.

Applied late November. High SATs, Interesting EC’s, et cetera, et cetera. . . . .
I’ve been checking the Gibson website religiously (can someone who’s received their decision fill me in on where exactly on the website it was posted? Was it just a notification in the upper right corner?)
When they say “The Admission Committee is working to render your decision as quickly as possible. The latest you will hear back from the Committee will be December 15” - does that mean I should know by Monday???
So nervous to find out.

@Mimime9‌ same here. I actually submitted on dec 3rd and they emailed me the other day, saying that I should hear from them in the following week or so. But still, according to Tulane web site, the latest we will be informed is dec 31st. Do you think I should write them for clarification?
