2019 Tulane EA/SCEA Decision Thread

I have a 3.4 UW GPA and a 3.9 W, 2100 SAT, lots of AP and honors, and application has been complete for about a month.
If i havent heard yet, is it unlikely that I will be accepted
I also did a campus visit and Why Tulane

i am wondering if anyone has received an acceptance that has sent in an art portfolio. I was wondering if that could be holding up my decision. What are some thoughts on that?

@dawg191117‌ - I do seem to recall that the people that sent in portfolios when they were required a couple of years ago did have to wait until the deadline, almost.

@acollegea‌ - I don’t think it means that at all. Be patient, there are a dozen reasons that you haven’t heard yet which don’t include not getting accepted. Everyone has to remember that Tulane gets between 35,000-45,000 applications every year, and most of those come early in the admissions cycle. Sometimes your application just hasn’t been gotten to yet.

The process seems to be very different this year than in the past.

Thank you! I could understand though if the art portfolio submissions took longer. It is an extra piece that needs to be evaluated. I am trying not to be anxious. Congrats to everyone that has heard so far. I am looking forward to hearing soon.

@flakid - It doesn’t seem different to me, just running a week or two later. But there is always some turnover in an admissions office, a new person or two. So the speed of regional responses certainly can vary.

S sent in a portfolio as well and hasn’t heard anything either, even though his application has been complete for a while. There were some issues with the portfolio because he sent everything in in early October to the email address given, but then we noticed recently that the instructions changed on the Tulane website. We called his admissions counselor who told us that the person handling the arts supplements had changed, so I think that process has gotten a little behind. At least that is what we are telling ourselves – we don’t want to think about the alternatives! We just got confirmation last week that his arts supplement had been processed into his file, so my guess is it will be close to the deadline when we hear.

My daughter was accepted today :)

Good luck and congrats to the rest of you!!

I am also from PA and applied mid September and haven’t heard back yet. Doesn’t seem like many people from here have heard yet so I wouldn’t worry!

@Chiitown22‌ when was your application marked complete? I live in a suburb near Downers Grove. Congrats btw!!

Sorry if I missed this but are acceptances coming by email or do you need to check Gibson?

@15hazlette I’m in the exact same situation you are (right down to PA) so maybe whoever is in charge of PA admissions hasn’t gotten through many applications yet.

@suzy100 acceptances are being posted on Gibson. The admissions counselors said you won’t receive an email when your decision has been posted on Gibson, however, you will receive a package in the mail usually 1 week after your decision has been posted.

My daughter received an email saying you will hear by 12/15/14. Has anyone in Ga received a decision?

We are from GA and have not heard yet. I have a friend in GA that did hear and she got in but her scores were a lot higher than my daughters. She got a scholarship. So they might be giving out them first. Just guessing.

My daughter’s scores are high with a 34 ACT with a great GPA with a very strenuous class load and interesting EC’s. So what the heck does priority application mean? It was supposed to be a quick turn around time but evidently not.

Just checked Gibson and got accepted!
I’m a girl from a Pennsylvania public school,
2040 SAT
3.9/4.5 GPA
Some EC’s and leadership positions, part time job, and lots of community service hours.
I visited Tulane and had good communication with my regional rep.

Good luck to everyone!!

Has anyone with an ACT less than 30 been accepted yet?

@engineering2015‌ my application was marked complete around a month and a half ago and I was just accepted yesterday via gibson web portal
