2019 UCF Acceptance/Scholarship Thread

Yes, still waiting for a decision. Have you tried calling undergraduate admissions? I have called many times and was deferred since I didn’t have all my transcripts in. I called the other day and the only reason I haven’t gotten a decision yet is that they are processing my final transcripts. She did tell me that they are very behind on processing transcripts and a lot of people are waiting. I wouldn’t stress about it. A lot of people are still waiting for a decision.

Do you think that more people will get summer now? are they don’t accepting people for fall?

No. They should still have openings for fall. They are behind on processing and reviewing applications. They should have spots left. And even if they end up filling it, you still have a good chance since many may choose another college or maybe don’t have funds for that semester. Even if you get accepted for summer, I suggest doing it. If you get into summer it most likely means that you didn’t have all the requirements for fall (maybe lower test scores or grades than other applicants) but you had the requirements for summer. Pretty much if you attend summer, they just want to see if you can do well at college. And if you do end up doing well, then usually they just end up accepting you for fall.

just to chime in on Brooke98 and the above post - if you are allowed to begin in the Summer, then you are fully accepted to UCF. You do not have to “do well” in the summer session to be accepted for fall. If you are admitted for the Summer term, you are already a full-fledged UCF student. Many students actually prefer to begin in the summer months (my son is one, even though he has a 4.4 GPA - nothing to do with seeing if he can do well) because it is a great way to learn your way around, become acclimated to living on your own, and ease into the rigors of college before the craziness of Fall semester and 60,000 students take over.

I got into summer 2019! when does this session start???

Does anyone know about rooms for summer term?

I haven’t gotten a descion yet unfortunately since I’m deferred still, but I did look up some information about the access summer program. It starts June 25th and you don’t have to live on campus but it is encouraged. You would be living in the Nike/Hercules housing. It’s first come first serve.

My S was accepted today. OOS from MA

mcr976,
Congrats to your son. May I ask when you applied?

Any recent acceptances? We are OOS and have been waiting since early November.

We finally got a decision yesterday (Denial - not surprised and couldn’t care less at this point) after applying in Sept with all documentation in since first week of October.

@TwoHighSchoolers I’m still waiting as well. Have been deferred since December (transfer student). But I did call them yesterday and they finally (after almost a month) processed my spring semester transcripts and she said that my application is now under review by admissions. However, since the summer deadline is coming up, you may (or may not) hear from them. Last year a lot of people did hear in the month of March their decision whether that was accepted, waitlisted, or denied. But as admissions say, there is no specific date you will know by.

@sdowd526
Do you mind sharing your gpa/test scores?

@Sdowd526 - My daughter’s status finally changed today to “denied.” (She was never in deferred status.). I was surprised to discover that my daughter was already in the “couldn’t care less” mode.

@TwoHighSchoolers Yes! I sent my application in September, and after 3 calls to the admissions office to sort out some issues I was finally accepted today. (February 22)

Are you accepting admission?
I don’t know yet. UCF is a great school, but I am still waiting to hear back from other schools next month before I make my final decision. I’m hoping to fly over and take a campus tour soon.

@itsnotmarinara Congrats!! still waiting for my decision (transcripts just finally got processed a week ago). I have a feeling I will be waitlisted or given the summer term. I have called so many times, but probably going to call again to make sure they really do have everything that they need. Oh, and by the way, the campus tour is totally worth it, it’s a stunning campus.

@TwoHighSchoolers what were your test scores and gpa?
