People who got in: wow! ; I myself am applying to Stanford OHS for r2. I have posted some discussions recently put with scattered info, so I wanted to just compile it here.
- (Asian) Indian Male
- took the SSAT:
- 95 math
- (bad) 76th verbal
- overall 95th percentile (I have no clue how the scores weighing system got that!)
- good grades : all A’s (it doesn’t go up to A+)
- I think my 2 recommendations were strong because I have good relationships with those teachers, but sadly never got to see
-ECS are meh:
- AMC10 classes
- Hindi class
- Science Olympiad ( got cancelled by coronavirus but we almost won regionals last year (we were two players short))
- I play rec winter basketball at time of application
- I swim, not competitive but for practice
- I am making a Forum website
- I won a student of the trimester award and leadership award at school (nothing compared to some of the national and international awards on this website)
Unlike some people I didn’t fill out all the ec’s and I don’t feel like much of a competitive applicant. Any chance “reports” would be greatly appreciated. Fingers crossed!
Hey everybody, as Round 2 decisions are to arrive upon us in a few minutes; I just wanted to wish everybody on this forum a very good luck! If you get in, Congratulations!!! However, if you don’t get in, then it’s fine, you tried your level best and that is all that matters!
Did the results come out yet? Because I haven’t gotten anything.
Yes, I have received the results roughly an hour ago. Rejected
Same. Better luck next year I guess.
I am waitlisted, does anyone know the chances of getting in?

Hello,
My son got accepted in round 2. He applied as a full-time but right now we are not sure if we want him to start as a full-time student. Does anyone know if he can take classes as a 2/3 or single course student and later convert to full-time? Thank you.
Yes, I am almost certain you can do this. My S21 was accepted as a full-time student, but opted to take only a single course. In subsequent years, he has had the option of registering single course, part time (2 to 3 courses) or full-time (4 to 5 courses).
Keep in mind, though, that if you want to receive an OHS diploma, there are certain class and minimum credit requirements that must be fulfilled. Ours will receive his diploma from a brick and mortar school, so we have not focused on these requirements, but I just thought I would throw that out for you to consider.
Congrats on your son’s acceptance!
Hello,
Does anyone know anything about the writing assessment at OHS? My son has to take. it is online this year
My daughter just took the writing for rising 10th grade and said she had to read a short passage and write 5 paragraphs in an hour.
Good luck to your son.
Hi,
My daughter is planning to apply for 2022-2023, she will be applying for grade 8 then. Does anyone have experience in applying with that grade? She’s worried that there would not have a lot of spaces to get in since the school may have recruited enough in grade 7. Also, is there any difference in the acceptance rate for single course, part time or full time applicants? Thanks in advance.
My son got in 8th this year so I doubt if the space is a problem. I think its more about ur scores and essays

6-8 hours for middle school and 8-10 hours for high school class per week, per class credit, I believe.
My son has applied this year (2021) and would love to know some stats for yours (to gauge our chances) and your experience at Stanford OHS the past year. Thank you!
Would love to hear the stats and experience the past year? Thank you!
I also applied to SOHS this 2021 year and now that I see how some of you had really good stats and still got waitlisted, I feel like I might get rejected. Here are mine:
All A’s, A+'s A-'s exept for one B+
I took the ISEE with a score of 9 for both of the math sections however I did not do well on the verbal reasoning and reading with a score of 5 on each (The scores go from 1-9)
I really loved my essays and if I get accepted I think that will be the main reason to the acceptance
I believe my reccomendations were good although I was unable to see them. Those teachers knew me well and I knew them well.
My extracirriculars were playing piano, martial arts, and a very rigorous math class outside of school.
I did do the video essay.
I really hope I get accepted. I applied for full time.
Even if I get accepted, I will only go there if i get financial aid and I think my family and I have a good chance of recieving that.
Which grade levels are you guys applying to for 2021-2022? I have two children applying for 7th and 8th-grade FULL TIME. Both are student-athletes who are into STEM. We are pretty happy with our current school except they don’t have the extensive courses offered in STEM as OHS. And OHS is already UC A-G approved for CA residents. We also like the flexible schedules.

My son (rising 7th grader):

SSAT Middle 99%
CTYer (High Honors)
Tri-lingual- English, Chinese, and Spanish
Plays Elite/AAA level Youth travel Ice hockey (12 hours + weekly plus monthly travel tournaments)

Video essay: talked about a board game he created based on the renewable energy/non-rewewable energy
My daughter is not too confident with her SSAT scores. She took it the last minute before the winter break was over even though it is not required this year for most applicants. Hopefully, her other components of the application would make up for it.
I hope they both would get accepted. At this point, I’m not sure if they’re what the admissions are looking for.
Decision letters come out tomorrow 3/5! Good luck!
