I wonder If Northeastern will ever break into the 30s. They have been shuffling around the 40s for a few years now. I feel as if their endowment will hold them back until they reach a billion
@MozartFan0418 Northeastern peaked at 39 a couple years ago. The limited endowment may be an issue but the other 5 colleges now tied with Northeastern at 40 have larger endowments so I am not sure how much of a factor it is.
As long as the University of California PR and Marketing machine continues to skew perception, there will be too many spots in the 30s taken by them. UCs like UCLA and Berkeley are established, but schools like UCSB, UCI, UCD and UCSD are overrated in the US News ranking. Does US News know that one third of the UC student pool are transfers from community colleges which accept students rejected during the freshmen year? The GPAs and SAT/ACT scores of those students are hidden from ranking publications.
Even with the skewed scores from community college transfers, the SAT and ACT scores for Irvine, Santa Barbara, Davis and San Diego are nowhere close to the top 40 school. the mid-50% for UCSB is 1190-1400.
