I am trying to surmise why UConn is considered a better school than Northeastern. Does anyone know why they consider UConn superior?

Last year Northeastern and UConn were tied at 69 I believe. This year UConn rose to 58 and Northeastern rose to 62. With ties, no schools are ranked 59, 60 or 61. One place in the rankings doesn’t mean there is a significant difference in the schools.

[National University | Rankings | Data | US News](http://colleges.usnews.rankingsandreviews.com/best-colleges/rankings/national-universities/data/page+3)

They are relative equals, one isn’t superior/better than the other really.

But you should pick a school based on your own criteria, what is important to you, cost, vibe, programs, fit etc. Irrespective of USNWR ranking.

sovereigndebt Yes. That is absolutely true. Being very familiar with both schools, I was really asking what USNWR was using as their criteria.
