2021-2022 USC Transfer

Which doesn’t make sense at all. I know you are right but it makes absolutely no sense to request spring grades (if we are not taking prerequisites, GE or any relevant courses) and then rejecting them after a 4.0. Because that means the reason of your rejection was not abour your courses nor gpa. They could have given me one without a SGR. Like if it aint
Gonna have an effect just reject me already smh

you have to think about it in the sense they are trying to pick the best applicant for their limited number of seats. It could be on your GPA… give a scenario, if the other (lets say its 10 others) are competing for 5 seats. They may want to see your grades to compare if you have maintain or is showing an upward trend. Lets say you did but so did 5 of those applicants… they were able to weed out 4 but they still need to weed out one more… so they will review your essays, EC, recommendation letters one more time.

honestly it all depends on the other applicants that are fighting for your seat. if the other applicants are not as strong than your GPA will help for sure… but if everyone is also coming back with a 4.0. Then its still a level playing field and will have to look elsewhere for determination.

I honestly think if they are going to reject me because of my essays or non gpa reasons they should have done so before sending the SGR. I understand they are doing the best they can but this situation is very stressful for all of us. The way they deal with transfer stuff is the reason I’m starting to stray away from USC. Long wait times and even longer wait times, inconsistency, lack of attention and answers, bad communication, exclusive policies like the fine aid and tuition waiver stuff. This is a big ass school they can afford more AOs smh

happened to my daughter

Uh okay

but they havent rejeceted you… they are still considering you but would like more information. To be honest, we have all waited this long… a few more days or couple more weeks to consider is not a big deal… we all knew decisions were not going to be made until May 31 at the latest and we all researched the threads that regular transfers were hearing in mid-May. We all got our hopes up thinking USC will follow their trends but in reality they never said they were rolling decisions… We made that assumption and that assumption is kicking our ass (excuse my language). I literally had a mental break Monday from all of the waiting as well because I fell into the assumption they will roll the decisions earlier than the date they posted. Honestly, they haven’t done anything wrong based on what they have posted. 31May at the latest you will receive a decision or request for more information. Please do not get discourage… we are so close… and getting the SGR is something small in the grand scheme of things

Could you elaborate on this? Was it this admissions cycle or the last? We’ve already seen non-ttp’s get in this year.

WOW! Really Now!?

there is no way that you went to your computer, turned it on, logged onto CC, went to the usc transfer thread and took time out of your Wednesday afternoon to tell us that all non ttps are getting rejected just because your daughter got rejected. please, babana67.

I know literally, we are all pulling for @kendravixli to get accepted. There will be a march to the admissions office if she’s doesn’t get in.

Transfers are accepted consistently each academic year. It’s unfortunate that your daughter was rejected, however, that doesn’t dictate the outcome for everyone else. If you believe your daughter set the benchmark for non-ttp applicants, then it is saddening that she was rejected.

Please do not allow this person’s negativity affect our mental state… we all know this is not true… for one we already have non-ttps accepted in this forum nonetheless. Allow them to be bitter in the comfort of their own PC or laptop. Their feelings have nothing to do with us.

As a parent myself, I’d expect a bit more compassion and gravitas from a fellow parent. Your comment is petty, demoralizing, and completely out of line. Please do not take out your frustration and anger over your daughter’s rejection on all the hardworking students here, hoping for good news.

lol, it may or may not be the truth, but there’s absolutely no reason to say that here, particularly when people are so hopeful and have worked so hard to get to this point

Im preparing for the worst but good luck everyone!!!

Just submitted my unofficial spring grades :crossed_fingers:
