2021 TAMS UNT Waitlisted-early decision

I was wait listed for early decision 02/27/2019. Anyone know if decision will come within a couple of weeks or is it in May?
Please current TAMS students-chime in if you were wait listed early decision. And when were you accepted?

I was put on something similar called the alternate list and I was just wondering if we would get any answers before the regular decision gets theirs. Any current TAMS student can respond to this and if you respond may you please explain the process we are going through.
Personally when I was researching there were no threads for early decision candidates so I am not sure if they would give us an answer anytime soon. If not I believe we will get an answer when the regular decision students get theirs.
Please spread some light on the situation some of us are having, Thankyou.

have you heard anything@SammyOo3 ?

My son got a letter from TAMS today saying still on the waiting list and will get result mid- to late mid May.

any update ?

My son was put on the early application waitlist and then was informed today that we was put on the waitlist again for regular admissions. Has this happened to anyone who was accepted? He’s hoping he still has a good chance of getting accepted.

Thank you for your update! We are in the same boat.

Don’t fall prey to the sales pitch from the Dean Oliveira. TAMS has a toxic culture with cutthroat competition. Contrary to popular opinion, you end up being ranked. How is that possible you may ask? Very simple: TAMs provides distribution of grades of the Senior class to the colleges.

And in the graduating class of 2019, sixty plus graduating seniors had a perfect GPA of 4.0. That is more than 35% of the graduating Seniors. Pity someone who is graduating with a GPA of 3.8. That poor dude will not be ranked even in the top 50 percent of the class

If you are in top 5 percent of your graduating class, then you have a better shot of a selective school and auto admit to UT Austin than joining TAMs and getting screwed by indifferent old white male professors - many of whom are known to dislike TAMSters.

Take my advice. Work hard at your school,

and you will come out ahead than joining TAMs and getting screwed over there

Thank you for your honesty @Seema901.

A 3.8 GPA is good. The idea is to be educated and not focus so much on GPA.

Check your email. Our child was just admitted a minute ago! It takes time for TAMS to work through their numbers sometimes. So many qualified teens. Our child is delighted to have the opportunity to be challenged.

We haven’t heard anything. Congrats! Wondering if my son didn’t get in if he didn’t get an email today? He’s been hoping he got in. He was waitlisted for both early and regular.

Keep us posted if anyone else waitlisted has heard anything.
