2023 PSU Waiting for Decisions

@ziveli513 I have been waiting for so long now it’s getting so close that I’m just so anxious.

@nittanylion1510 same here!!! We all who haven’t heard feel anxious :slight_smile:
I guess that’s why I am trying to make sense out of the waiting
And it is helpful to manage our expectations, we may be waiting for a while yet
But that doesn’t mean we won’t get in !

Ultimately I feel that as long as we get in then it is worth the wait.?

@nittanylion1510 to me, having my daughters application “under review” since mid August meant something was wrong

But now that I see that she is in the top range of the middle 50%, and that admissions says as of last week that no one has been accepted yet in that range

I feel better!

People who post acceptances here in the decisions thread are only a tiny fraction of applications

So heating from admissions reps is so much more helpful I think than speculations based on threads from the past

@collegegirl2023 agreed :slight_smile:

@nittanylion1510 btw I have written to admissions several times, as recently as today, and I get an answer the same day so far

Very helpful

@zeemeezeeyou. No one said only top 25% will be admitted

Just that admissions said no one in the mid 50% as of last week had been accepted to up

Meaning that so far only top 25% accepted

Did not mean that only top 25% get in
@citymama9 didn’t say that either
Hope that clears up

@ziveli513 sigh You tagged me in a half dozen posts with questions or contradictions to my previous post, so I was using intermittent caps to emphasize areas that you clearly (in my opinion) seem to be confused about. My intention was not to “yell”, but to be clear. I sincerely mean this - I hope your daughter hears very quickly with an admission offer!

For everyone else here, I’m going to bow out of this thread and let you have at it. If anyone has any specific questions for me just PM me, start a new thread with that question, or ask one of the other very knowledgeable folks here that have been around for a long time and have “been there, done that”. Everyone that hangs out here when we don’t need to is sincerely interested in making your wait less anxious and giving you the very best information on admissions, majors, policies, housing etc…Feel free to PM any one who regularly gives advice here.

@jlhpsu thank you for reducing caps
Not confused. Curious and interested

Don’t know why you make discussions personal

But again thanks for your apology for yelling

All of this confusion regarding when each person will hear will be cleared up in time. Early Action is new so we will learn more about this process as time passes.

I find all this talk about “higher stats are getting admitted first” kind of funny. My son is top 7%, 4.0 (5.12 weighted), 36 ACT, leadership, deep involvement in marching band (gold medal at state as a soloist), heavy load of AP courses, etc etc etc. Submitted his app in September and has heard nothing. He emailed admissions yesterday and all they’d say was “your application is complete.” It’s baffling.

If this were true rolling admissions, he would have had an offer in October. Minnesota offered him in about 10 days. He has a full ride + cash offer from a UT campus. And he’s reluctant to put the effort into the Schreyers application with no offer from the university first.

@ziveli513 , sorry but feeling as if @jlhpsu has been extremely patient with your posts. I’m not digging your combative nature and tone. We’ve given you our advice and our opinions graciously on a volunteer basis based on a combination of internal knowledge about PSU and past experience.

I’m off this train, too.

Next wave is this week?

@TXMom2016 just repeating what actual admissions reps have told us :slight_smile:
Not everyone with higher stats, just
Higher stats first , so far
What major has your son applied to?

@TXMom2016 My son has very similar stats to yours, however he applied on August 5th and we’re still waiting! For what college/major did your son apply? Mine is engineering. So frustrating.

Congrats to those accepted! Let’s keep 'em coming! :slight_smile:

three new acceptances today! Visit the other Forum about Decisions Only, yes some are DUS, but scores are midrange!

They are releasing more decisions daily which is a good sign. Also since we are seeing more mid 50% acceptances let’s hope that means the rest of us hear soon too.

@2022mom. Congrats to you!!!
Great news

@amomoffour fingers crossed :slight_smile:

@ziveli513 I applied early August and I started checking daily until about October when it was still under review and now I’m just waiting and resisting the urge to check each hour of the day.
