@off2co11ege , sorry I forgot to ask that question!! They are getting slammed with calls and didn’t even think about that one. I’ve heard that it moves to multiple times a day as the dates get closer, but since this is the first time there is EA, I’m not sure anyone knows.

FWIW, a lot of CS/Eng students seem to be hearing their decision now. We heard this morning on a 10/31 application.

@TXMom2016 Penn State isn’t rolling admissions… they are “modified rolling admissions”. Per their website, "Applicants are evaluated on a modified rolling admissions schedule. " So the “decision in 6 weeks after application” is not applicable. Glad to hear that you’ve gotten an answer!
@ziveli513 your frustration seems to be ramping up again. While you have lots of family members at Penn State, I’m not sure that you - as a parent - have the stomach for it. Your kid will not get her hand held and there are times that patience is a virtue.
As for the dorms question - honestly, if you have applied EA, get an admittance, and accept quickly, you will be okay. You may not get your first choice - but a second choice - or a third choice can be good, too. The newer dorms in East are nice, but they are still in East. The unrenovated dorms in Pollock may not be as flexible on the interior, but they have the benefit of a great location. The quads in North are loved by those who live there. The worst option is supplemental - which your kid will not get unless she waits until the last week to accept. It isn’t like there is only one great option that your kid is already locked out of.
breathe, go find something to do, and stop stressing. If you are so stressed, then call Admissions and ask.

@ziveli513 Don’t believe all posters. Just because someone wrote they applied 11/30 and were accepted today, doesn’t mean it’s true. In fact, it’s probably not true. Especially if they are “one post” posters. They purposely do this to work people up. I’ve seen it over and over, year after year. Don’t fall for it.
It could have just as easily been 10/30 and it was a typo.
PSU has a process and they are doing everything they said they would.

4 years ago, when I was in the position, having 2 acceptances going into the holiday break took a lot of weight off; it was the difference between polishing off 3 applications that were almost complete versus finishing those 3 plus and additional 4 more. I personally did not care if my acceptance was 12/12 or 12/24.YMMV.
To put things in perspective, I am told that in the olden days before the magma cooled and while dinosaurs roamed the earth, kids had to wait by a thing called a mailbox until a person dressed in blue walked up at an unspecified date and time with an envelope containing their decisions. 
Patience is a virtue.

No one is admonishing you. Experienced parents are just letting you know that based on your posts, Penn State does not appear to be a good fit for you. You can take that as admonishing, or you can take that in the way it’s meant…to save you four years of this level of frustration, because I guarantee you, Penn State will not live up to your expectations. Sounds like OSU just might though. Honestly, we all love Penn State, but they aren’t perfect.
I do not believe that someone who applied Nov 30 has heard. There is also a post from someone saying they applied 12/11. One post posters…likely just trying to rile people up. Sad, but it happens on open forums like this. The idea is to see patterns and generalities. One off posts like that are not believable. Just keep on keeping on. Not much longer now.
As far as who gets told to breathe or not…LOTS of people exclaim frustration. LOTS of people are offered advice. Few get angry about the advice.

@atbegem I have not yet seen any Forensic Science acceptances come through. Keep in mind, however, that CC is a very small subset of the applicants and acceptances that Penn State actually has. So it may just be that no one that posts here has applied to Forensic Science.
