where did you get this info?
@dc12345 thanks for the update!! One way or another, hopefully the wait is over
Sorry for that, but it’s actually quite surprising cuz I thought they will take off those they want and send the rejections all at once

Still waiting, still nervous
For any updates you guys send, do you guys send them to your regional admissions officer or do you upload them on the portal? I sent my first LOCI to the admissions officer then uploaded the rest on the portal
I sent them to my regional ao, but I guess that they both work?
FYI, just got notified for admission into the class of 2025. seems pretty late in the game so I was surprised.
congratulations! are you a domestic student? and did you receive an email and/or phone call?
i am! both. received an email from my regional counselor to set up a time to chat on the phone, then got the call. super excited and super lucky, honestly a dream.
Has anyone asked when we should expect to receive our results? It’s nearly JULY and we still don’t know anything.
So a few other schools sent out emails today informing waitlisted applicants of their status—meaning that they got further waitlisted into July. UChicago will probably send an email like this out soon
@sariseo thanks for the info!!
Did anyone manage to reach your admissions counselors for official information on when they expect all waitlist decisions to be released by?
Idk, but it seems we are just forgotten
Guys, the UChicago Admission Office, same as every single university administration in this country, is facing an unprecedented quagmire of how to re-open the school safely but still preserve at least partially the unique culture of the school. Whereas in a normal year by now AO would have a pretty firm idea of 1st year matriculation status, I suspect this year the number is still uncertain because of possible deferrals and visa restrictions. I am quite sure the AO are not forgetting you guys but they face a very unique fluid situation. So please be patient.
@85bears46 of course we understand that all colleges are going through unprecedented times. However, UChicago hasn‘t updated the waitlisted applicants in a very long time (well over two months). Other schools are going through the same situation, but at least they keep their waitlisted applicants updated. Just an example: UPenn sent an email to all waitlisted applicants last week informing them that the waitlist will be extended until mid July. UChicago should at minimum do the same, because it clearly stated that the waitlist would be dissolved after spring.
First year on-campus housing will be settled by July 10* so it’s reasonable to expect that they will have a pretty good idea of who is planning to be on campus vs. remote vs. deferred by that date. If those on the W/L don’t hear anything within the next week, you can probably conclude that the waitlist is effectively dissolved.
*Date that they open up remaining available space to 2nd years, etc. Dorm rooms to be in significant short-supply for 2020/21 as all units, including doubles, will be converted to single-occupancy.
