I have a high GPA, a rigorous class schedule, and very good extra curriculars. A 2100 SAT seems low compared to everybody else on here. If the rest of my application is strong, is there a chance that I could get accepted with that score?

If URM it’s fine.

If Asian it would be a bit of a stretch.

From personal experience, a score in the range of 2200 is good enough.

I’d say aim for 2200… Of course, even if you don’t get the 2200, it doesn’t mean you’re completely doomed… You’d still have a chance, it’s just a 2200 makes you a lot more competitive…

Good luck. (: Dartmouth’s great; are you applying ED?

Retake the SAT. Take a look here ->[Testing Statistics](http://www.dartmouth.edu/admissions/facts/test-stats.html) I would say there is a significant difference between a 2300+ and a 2100-2200.

“the rest of my application is strong”

So-called “strength” and a viable test score/GPA are not enough. Many variables involved. People like you are admitted. People like you are often denied. That’s the numbers.

but more people with your score are denied than those accepted

^ To be more succinct, more people with any score, including 2400s, are rejected than accepted.
