What are my chances of receiving scholarships in these schools? (aiming for full ride)
I’m taking another SAT this week and expecting to receive higher reading score
Full ride? None of those schools.
Decent amount of scholarships from those schools? maybe a good amount from UMaryland, baltimore, but that’s n ot the flaghip.
You’re chosen mostly schools where your stats are not hight.
What is your situation? Do yo need merit to attend school? What do you need your net costs to be?
How much will your parents pay?
If you neeed a lot of scholarship money, then apply to the schools that will give you that money.
I actually have applied to two schools which will give me full ride presidential scholarships (in-state). Those 6 schools are just the higher ones. I am hoping to raise up my reading score this time to the point where I would have chance of getting a decent amount of scholarship.
You will not get merit from most of these schools. If you are not a resident, you may not even get in (UVA, UNC, Michigan). You may (?) get accepted to Emory, but will not likely qualify to be an Emory Scholar (just my opinion) unless you have something way out of the box that they are looking for. In my opinion, your acceptance to Emory depends on a lot of factors including, but not limited to, your state of residency. You are a good student, but there may be many many good students applying from your HS and you will be compared to them. Here is a frame of reference: my daughter graduated #1 with test scores 100 points higher than yours. She raised over $30,000 for an outside organization, among other things. She was accepted to these schools with zero merit (she was a Jefferson Scholar but did not make the final cut).
Choose schools where you are at the top and you may qualify for merit aid. You are a very good student- congrats!!!
@jsgpark1002 You have a 1440 Math + CR. The W score is largely irrelevant, particularly for merit.
Even if you raise your CR score a bit, the only school that I see you getting “some” merit at is UMaryland. The others, no. The top students at those schools will have 1500+ Math+CR scores. And even many of them will not ge merit. Those schools hardly need to give merit since they are full of top students.
What is your home state?
Are those 2 schools that you mention giving you “full tuition” awards? or tuition, room, board, books and fees awards?
Would you be happy going to those schools? If not, then you need other safeties.
How much will your family pay for college?
