2300. Does that count as "superscore"?

I'm wondering if i should retake the SAT. Is it a score that "average people" will get? A lot of people i know are not satisfied with 2300 and says they'll retake it. What's your view?

Alas! It seems you have mixed up superscore and superb score.

A superscore is an SAT score that takes the scores of multiple SATs taken and counts only the best score achieved in each section.

A superb score is relative, but I think most would agree that a 2300 is indeed a superb score. Assuming relatively equal distribution, the difference between a 2400 and a 2300 is pretty small, but I could understand why one would retake a 2300 under certain circumstances. But it is nevertheless a score that is, by essentially everyone’s standard, a superb score. And not necessarily a superscore ;)

thanks! I kinda feel bad cuz people are all aiming for 2350’s or higher… it’s like nobody even cares about the low 2300’s anymore O_o

Reality as I know it is crumbling before my eyes.

hahahahahaha
kids these days

I find it ironic that you did so well on the SAT and yet do not know the correct definition of the phrase “superscore.”

i think it’s a ■■■■■

^you know not everyone that asks a simple question is a ■■■■■. Maybe this person in all honesty was just confused and perplexed by the situation and needed some advice.

it’s a ■■■■■ when you ask if an sat score of 2300 is average

^^I agree with sstewart. not everyone on CC knows that 2300 is clearly below average… :P

I don’t get how people that score so high on the SAT’s can be so dumb sometimes.

Exactly, some people are books smart, but not street smarts. So maybe the person in all honesty did not know. It Does not make them a ■■■■■ to find the answer. hell if I had not found this site I wouldnt have known what superscore was.

I mean, it would only take probably less than a minute of research to realize that a 2300 is what? 99.9th percentile? And I don’t think any college in the world really cares whether it’s a 2300 or a 2350. It’s good enough.

^ A composite score is artificial. What colleges really care about is your score in each section. If an applicant is applying to Harvard with a 2300 but has a breakdown of 800/700/800 with a 700 in critical reading, you can bet that they are at a worse standpoint for admissions than someone with 780+ in all 3 sections.

It’s not about having a high enough composite score; it’s the sectional breakdown that counts. The ACT is where the composite score is weighted.

■■■■■, ■■■■■, ■■■■■
