25 days!!!

Yeah, kind of. But think of how many admissions officers there are. I just looked online and there are 26 people who make up Penn’s admissions staff (I don’t know if they all read apps though). If each person reads approximately the same number of apps and the decisions are made in 20 days, each person needs to read less than 6 applications a day.

(3000/20/26=apx. 5.77)

Hopefully that makes you feel a littler better! :)

I do believe they devote a decent amount of time to reviewing each application.

I have no outstanding materials left! I’m nervous, my app is official now! D: Even if they don’t really start reviewing until later.

good luck to all!!

Good luck, guys!

twenty three!

Ahhhh!!!

But I officially have “no outstanding” application items…soooo it’s REALLY in the adcoms’ hands now!!

I’m just as excited to see my results but here’s a word of advice: just relax until then. You will only drive yourself crazy by counting down the days and thinking about it constantly. Good luck to everyone though

how long did it take everyones stuff to be received? i understand that they are swamped but i applied OCTOBER 8th… way before some people who have had everything received! all that is missing are my recommendations… makes me nervous that they are the only things that haven’t made it.

hotfutureengineer- I don’t know… my portal says I’m still missing things. I’m not too worried about it though. But you might want to check with your teachers and make sure the recs were sent. Good luck!

@DCK7- that’s good advice… I worry I may be too neurotic to stop counting down the days though. :)

^ I’ll be counting down on here everyday. haha

i feel like if we count down, the days will seem longer.

haha agreed… but I count down myself anyways so I guess I really don’t mind seeing the days posted on here as well, lol.

22 days left! omgpop!

waiting is driving me insane

21 days 19 hours 32 minutes… aaagh

I was a little bored, so here’s something.

[Countdown Clock](http://xrl.in/3t8y)

It’s a countdown clock! So you’ll know. :)

I really hope I get deferred then accepted RD! crosses fingers

21 days
18 hours
56 minutes
58 seconds

haha thanks set point. i suspect a lot of us will be staring at that for a long time lol

ArceaSon- Why? Is Penn not actually your first choice? Why wouldn’t you want to be accepted and not have to deal with the application process anymore, ha?

I don’t understand why anyone would apply ED if they didn’t want to get accepted ED…

Just curious, how long did it take them to finally say your application was complete? My daughter got her Portal ID on November 4th and they are still saying that her letters of recommendations “have not been received” even though all the other items that were in the same envelope have been received. It’s frustrating to think the recommendations are there, but have not yet been acknowledged.

All of my stuff from the school (transcript, recs, SSR, etc.) was sent in the same envelope as well, and just like in your daughter’s situation, some of the materials have been reported as received and some haven’t. I think they just process things strangely. I’m sure all of your stuff arrived fine and it will probably be updated in a few days.
