^ your facts are correct, we aren't worried for two reasons. We think will get accepted and UCF is a great school, as a matter of fact it is the Parental Units top choice.

Either way you have great choices! UCF is great, I was accepted but my top choice is FSU =]. Good luck! I'm sure she will do great wherever she goes. What is she majoring in if I may ask.

Does anyone know about Florida's talented 20?

Talented Twenty Program - rewards high school students graduating in the top 20% of each senior class by guaranteeing them admission to one of the eleven state universities in Florida and by providing priority funding for the Florida Student Assistance Grant program.

I'm in the top 20% actually the top 5% but I never received any State university stuff. I got ALOT of out of state universities and colleges information though.

bbecker, i wouldn't worry about talented 20, thats more for those with low test scores-which haven't recieved an acceptance yet, its not for you......You guys who findout on the 28, should just stay up till midnight-last time my acceptance email was sent at 12:07 and then apply for housing right after..because if you sit on it you're going to be out of luck..

I wish we we're finding out tomorrow!!

Big day today for Fla on TV

The Gators have already beaten Oregon in roundball to go back to the final four!

Tiger is tearing up the course at Doral on his way to another win, the only issue left in doubt is by how much

Hey guys! I just made an account here, but for the past few weeks I've been reading posts to learn more about FSU. You guys have been very helpful, by the way. I made an account so I can write about how excited I am for March 28th! Before then, I have to dwindle my list down to my top four dorm choices, and I'm hoping you guys can help me out. The east-side dorms (Byan, Broward, Jeanie, Reynolds) all look the same, and I would be happy with any of them. I don't know much about Cawthon, DeGraff, or Ragans. I heard that Wildwood would be opening for the fall term- which would be great because I want to be in a newer or renovated dorm. Any input on any of these dorms would be greatly appreciated.

jennie....is all female, ragans is upperclass only, after that i agree with you with wanting to choose either a renovated or new dorm, i just dont agree with the mandatory meal plan.

Why do some have the mandatory meal plan and others dont?

well they say that east side dorms are required meal plan dorms.....don't know why...maybe no kitchens?

Man I'm so screwed with all these fee's coming up. My mom doesn't have the money and I'm not working. I hope my interview tomorrow goes well.

Try contacting Admissions and see if they'll help or suggest an alternate path.

1 day 14 hours 46 minutes and 20 seconds!

As college days are nearing and money is getting tighter and tigther. My mom is putting pressure on me to come up with $300 to pay for some of my car insurance, I will not be able to come up with the money obviously. It's insane, She threaten to take my car so I dont know if she really is. If i get the job today i guess I have to find another way to get to work and ask her to sell my car or something since I'm going to college. Is that a smart idea?

Cars are a big expense for insurance, gas and repairs but many students do like to have a vehicle for convenience and the parking pass is included in your transportation fee (along with free buses around campus).

I kind of thought the mandatory meal plan for the renovated dorms was just to make sure that they can cover the expense the university incurred when they built Suwannee. I guess they don't require it on Wildwood and DeGraff since they are pretty far away from Suwanee and the project is already funded with the current dorms. All of the dorms have kitchens according to the amenities chart so I don't think that comes into play.

bbecker chill out there, you will find out soon enough.

All I called Housing just now and posted a comment on the housing thread
