2nd round?

Hi, I'm applying to UVA as a transfer student this year. I was just wondering if applying twice (i was rejected for freshman admission, out of state applicant) shows more interest, or decreases my chances of being admitted. I am now a freshman in college by the way, so it will have been 1 year since I applied. Thanks.

depends.

what are your grades? what caliber of school are you applying from?

Well, I'm currently attending UMass Amherst and am in the honors programs. I took 20 credits this semester ( 7 courses, 4 of which were honors) and I have a 3.94 after the first semester.
I also took the new SAT this semester in october and got a 2200. As far as EC's go, I am a founding father of a new fraternity on campus and serve on the executive board as the treasurer (also oversee the finance and budget committee as treasurer), I'm an analyst in the Investment Club, member of the finance society, work on the development committee of the undergraduate leadership council, and am part of the Business school honors council.

It sounds like you have an excellent chance of getting in.

I agree. You have a good chance of transferring into UVa.

thanks for the replies guys, I really do appreciate it. As you might be able to tell from my ECs, I'm going to be a business major. Actually, I would like to double major in Finance and Economics. Hypothetically speaking, as far as admission goes, would I have an equal shot as any other UVA student for getting into McIntire at the end of sophmore year? Also, does anyone know about double majoring at UVA, especially in two different schools (Arts and Sciences for Econ and McIntire for Finance)? Thanks again.

anyone know?

b238, double majoring in more than one school can be very difficult and time-intensive. Why not pursue just one major and do well in it? plenty of people do the same out of UVA and score sweet jobs with top banks and consulting firms. hell, not all of them even have econ or commerce degrees.
