2nd Semester Arts and Letters

Hi everyone,
I'm about to start my second semester at USC, and one of my classes is Jews in American Fiction with Dr. Bruce Phillips. I looked at my booklist and I have to get 10 books!! (All of them over 100 pages) Has anyone taken this course yet and do you know if we have to read all of these books? I couldn't find any reviews of this course anywhere.

There are 2 other classes that are open in that time slot, but both seem quite daunting: Medieval Thought and True Confessions: Writing the Self

None of these classes are listed in senate course guide or ratemyprofessors.com

Thanks!

All arts & letters classes that I've heard about have a ridiculous number of books. When I did mine we had about 10 or 11 books we had to buy, and I think we read most of them (or at least read sections of most of them)

It might seem like a lot, especially if you're not a big reader, but realize that most of the work in the course is reading the books (except for writing papers on the books, of course), so really it's like reading one book every week and a half for 4 units, which is not so bad.

Had a quick question about GE classes. Sorry for posting this on your thread, but I didn't wanna create a new one. =)

Since I live in Houston and this spring will be my first semester at USC, I was wondering if I can take one of my GE classes during the summer in Houston. I plan to take a science class. Will this class transfer over still since i'll be a student at USC?
