GE recommendations? anyone?

Well, it's that time already: Spring registration. I'm trying to choose a GE category VI class to take (this is the one that is corequisite with WRIT-140). Any recommendations? Thanks!

DO NOT take War & The American Experience. I can't stress this enough, it is the most useless and boring class I have ever taken. My roommate took Social Psychology (or something like that) and loves it.

if u wanna take diversity and racial conflict (soci 142 gm, which fulfills the diversity req too), lemme know cuz i have the textbooks.

I enjoyed my Changing Family Forms class. A lot of it was because of my professor, Silverstein. I don't know how the class would be without him, but I liked it.

For anyone else who is looking for GEs, here are my yays and nays:

Cat. I: The American Experience. I forget my professor's name, but the fact that he was really old combined with the class being at 8 in the morning, made it a little dry for me, and I enjoy history. Overall, it wasn't that bad, though.

II: Religions of Latin America with Lint Sagarena. I took it pass/fail, and so I enjoyed it that way. There is a lot of reading to do, and I didn't do most of it, and still passed easily. Parts of the class are interesting, parts not so much.

III: The Universe. Soooo much to know. For my professor we had to buy a stack of power point slide notes for $15 that was about 3 inches high.

IV: Atmospheric Environment w/ Bauer. Probably the worst class I've ever taken. I thought it was really hard, the labs were really frustrating, and overall, I just didn't like the subject matter.

V: Memory and Identity in Postmodern Literature and Film. I really, really enjoyed this class and all the books we read. We also had to watch films, but fyi, you have to watch them on your own.

Diversity: Broadway Musicals w/ Zorn. Loved it! It was also easy.

uschicka, you must have had Seip for The American Experience. Though I heard many people liked him.

I can add that right now I'm taking Modern Russian Art w/ Bowlt for cat. V, and it is an awesome class! Bowlt only assigns one page weekly essays for hw on the most abstract ideas one can come up with plus all we do is listen to him make rather funny lectures on different pieces of art. For an engineering major, I really like the class. I'd definitely recommend him for cat. V.

Nope it wasn't Seip.

im taking social psych and i hate it...dr. j is a douchebag
