2nd semester grades/senioritis

I clearly see that first semester grades are very important as they are the last thing colleges get from you before they make their decision. What about 2nd semester grades?

After you've been accepted agreed to go payed deposits and applied for housing, how do 2nd semester grades fit in?

just wondering because a bunch of people in my class are just taking the 0 on the really tedious assignments and settling for passive B's.

Most colleges will take away the admission if your grades drop dramatically, like Ds and Fs.

depends on what colleges, but as long as you have higher than a 3.0 you should be fine. No Fs and Ds and do not go down lower than one grade. Like if you got an A in one class, do not get a C second semester.

interesting, but I'll stick with A's.

You know what my kid noticed? His teachers were hugely difficult all through HS, including first semester of this year. Then the day second semester came around and two of his teachers definitely relaxed their attitudes. It's as if the work load lessened in anticipation of senioritis. This didn't necessarily apply to those classes that might include underclassmen, but in AP? Yeah. His theory is however that they pushed so hard during the first semester to make sure they covered all the bases before the AP exam in anticipation of seniorities and then they can spend more time on review. Who knows. But they've been teaching a long time. As I said to one of the Dean, which comes first senioritis or the anticipation of it (along the thinking of which came first the chicken or the egg?) He said it constantly remains a fine line wiht teachers who would rather go with the flow and enjoy the kids for the last few months vs those who end up looking like Bullies for being so demanding.

For top colleges (read: top 50), don't drop to Cs and you'll be fine. For more middle-of-the-road, don't get more than 3 or 4 Cs and you're good. At least, that's what I'm going by...

Lol oh man, senioritis....

It's not that I get bad grades (2 Bs the rest As 1st semester), but I just don't really... attend school. I get the work done, have all A's so far this MP, but my attendance record certainly isn't perfect :P Oh well, it's not that big of a deal.

i can't wait for senioritis next year, hehe :D
apparently after ap exams this year, we'll just watch movies & shiz. awesomenesss.
