So, I have take 16 credits this first semester and brought in around 15 from APs. These are the classes I am thinking of signing up for. Also, I am majoring in Accounting and Finance. I also took finite last summer and am taking calc this summer, and I have already finished taking the econs and fulfilled an A&H already.
BUS K201 - Computer in business - 3 cr
BUS T175 - Kelley Compass I - 1.5 cr
BUS T144 - KLC Hot Topics - 1 cr(8 weeks)
BUS A202 - Managerial Accounting - 3 cr
REL A210 - Intro to Old Testament - 3 cr(A&H/WC)
INTL I204 - Human Rights and International Law - 3 cr(WC)
EDUC X150 - Read - Learn Techniques 1 - 2 cr
For a total of 16.5 credits.
The thing I am not sure about is taking A201 and K201 at the same time, because I want to get ahead in accounting classes, but I know that K201 takes a long time, as well as A201. On top of that, I don’t know how much work the religion or international studies class takes.
Also, the education class is 8 weeks too.
Also, I’ve take A100 but not A201 because I want to take A205 1st semester sophomore year.
It seems like a decent schedule, though I’m not sure what the point of the education class is. I’m currently in K204 and the workload is manageable, but there is a decent amount. For what it’s worth, here is my planned schedule for next semester. I will have all the freshman Kelley classes done except compass.
BUS T 175 Compass 1 1.5 credits
BUS A 207 Honors Managerial Accounting 3 credits
BUS K 304 Technology Honors 3 credits
BUS G 202 Business Government and Society 2 credits
STAT S 301 Stats 3 credits
PSY P 102 Intro to Psych 2 3 credits
Total 15.5 credits
I was actually doing the education to reach 16.5 credits because I didn’t want to take 17.5, but I will look into G202 for those 2 credits, I hadn’t thought of that.
Ok. You know it is okay to take 14.5 though right?
Yes, but I am trying to get in and then stay in Hutton as a backup in case I don’t get into Kelley Honors. And for Hutton, I need at least 15 credits a semester
I think you are mistaken if you are just now trying to get into Hutton - you don’t need 15 credit hours per semester to stay in Hutton no matter when you get in.
Hutton only requires 14 graded credits in the first Freshman semester (you’ve got that). Hutton only requires 12 hours per semester after that for Freshmen maintaining a Hutton Scholarship (not you). Apart from those requirements, Hutton just needs to see 21 credits of honors classes with 2 classes coming from Hutton by graduation.

OTOH, It’s smart to always sign up for a schedule that will allow you to drop a class and still stay above 12 (full-time status) in order to avoid fees and loss of scholarships. Using this idea, signing up for 15 hours or more is still a good idea.
The thing is that I am majoring in Accounting and Finance right now, but may want to switch finance to management, and I need to take a lot of credits in order to get the 150 when I graduate, and since Accounting and management are two very different majors, I want to make it as easy as possible.
