3.0 good enough for transfer to UVA?

For an instate going to a CC?

Assuming everything else is good, you know, test scores, essays. Assuming all of those are good and "competitive" or whatever, would the 3.0 be a dire handicap?

Also, I won't have 60 credits, more like, 50 something. MAYBE 60....maybe, but assume I don't.

Are you applying to McIntire? Then probably not...

No. I wanna go into Political Science, but I think they call that Government at UVA.

I've read alot of stuff on this McIntire and it seems like trying to get into Stern at NYU.

I believe their website says the average transfer has a 3.5

Yes, but their site also says something about having a 2.5 doesn't mean that they won't still "consider" you. Basically, even with a 3.7, UVA is hard to get into. That said, I believe they say things like "well, 2.5s are ok, we'll still give you a chance" only to collect the nice admission fee. Most people deny this, but I think it's true.

You should apply anyways, because you never know until you give it a shot.

True, there would have to be something special about you to get in with a 2.5. Hopefully be being instate and a coughminoritycough may help me a bit.

Ah god I hate A.A but dammit if I wouldn't like for it to come and help me just once before I totally bash it.

That said, a 3.0 would the the LEAST I have possibly, depending on how many credits I take during the summer.

I only have like, 25 now. A couple C's, and an F from when I dropped a class, but the school said I didn't (bastards) hurt my gpa a little, and according to the GPA calculator, even if I were to more than double the amount of credits I have now, that would BARELY put me over the 3.0 mark, and that's having them all be A's, and I have a 2.5 now.

2.5, there's no chance. 3.0, maybe. I had a 3.2, but applied to SEAS from VT's engineering school, and had a 3.8 midterm in the spring. I'd wait and get your associates with a 3.4 and go auto-admission.

If you are attending Northern Virginia Community College and originally lived in the state of Virginia, I think a 3.4 GPA is a guaranteed transfer to UVA. There may be other strings attached but I know NOVA has a deal with UVA for guaranteed transfer.

Oh yea, 2.5 would be retarded to apply. But like I said, I have 24 credits. I expect to have at LEAST 50 credits by the time I applied, maybe more if I took classes during the summer, though I'm not even sure if those classes would be taken into consideration as the deadline for applying will pass long before the summer starts.
