3.3 GPA, History major?

I applied to UCD, UCSB, UCI, and UCB(because I like to dream __ )

I had my app checked by a UCSD admissions officer that visited my CC. She read my essays and looked through the app and gave me the okay. Said I did a good job with my essays but who knows if it really means anything

3.37 transferrable GPA with my fall grades included
IGETC will be done this semester- need to take a foreign language class
I’m just taking a bunch of history courses now
I couldn’t TAG because I’m taking Statistics this semester.

Do you guys think I have a chance at getting into any of these schools? I know UCB is a looooong shot but UCD is the school I mainly want to go to.

I’m already planning to take another year and TAG this september. I feel like my GPA isn’t gonna get me in anywhere

Yes, you have a shot - or you will if you will have 60 semester / 90 quarter units completed by the end of the Spring, and all or most of your history requirements completed.

You should have applied to UCLA, too! It’s not THAT far of a reach. You are on par with UCD, UCSB, and UCI in my opinion - they might not all accept you, but you have a good shot for at least one of them accepting you. Good luck.

UCLA is a great school but I don’t think I want to live in LA. It sounds kind of dumb, I know but as someone who is from San Diego- LA is bleh haha

Thanks for responding. I’ve been stressing really hard about it. Hopefully I get in somewhere up north-ish

I get it. I just hear great things about LA’s History department.

Good luck. I’m sure you’ll get in somewhere - Davis is likely IMO. Worst case scenario, take your extra year to boost your GPA, and you’ll be able to TAG to Davis.
