Yes, I've seen many threads on this. But I would love to see more opinions.

Non-impacted major.
GPA: 3.34
Applied: UCR, UCSB, UCSD, UCI, and UCSC.

I'm guessing....the cutoff for non-tag applicants can't be higher than a 3.3....if my major isn't impacted. Any feedback is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Thanks so much! I wish there were more people on here like yourself. You actually calmed me down :-D

But you know what else makes me wonder? if the cutoff for non tag a UCSD was a 3.7, how come people with 3.28+ get in? That’s what gives me hope!

Sorry to hear UCs do understand that life happens and you can’t really control your emotional and mental pain. I think the TAG system last year was a huge flaw because you coupd tag to EVERY UC with a 3.0 and igetc. Now this year you can only tag to one UC and now UCSD tag is a 3.5. I feel that it’ll benefit lower GPA students. If there were a ton of tag applicants getting accepted to UCSD, there were people with 3.28’s getting in without tag to nonimpacted majors. I feel that there is hope.

And you have to include every single class you took. Even if you had straight D’s in 12 classes, you have to report it. Wish you the best.

Heck yeah. ESPECIALLY financial aid. They will resign you without any hesitation.

Just saw this thread. I have the same exact GPA as Eggyham. And applied to the same schools except for UCSC. Since he/she is focusing more on UCSD. Id say if you’re applying to an nonimpacted major, a 3.34…is a little “too high” to get rejected with since they usually put the cutoff to a 3.25+. Idk if the 3.5 tag is going to throw off the cutoff ga for non impacted Meh were just gonna have to wait…2 months or so lol
