I'm really unhappy at GW, does anyone here think I have a decent at an Ivy league school like Penn? I'm looking to apply to Penn, Cornell, and a few others. I'm really hoping I get in somewhere, any advice anyone?

3.67-3.7 is a little low for Ivys. Most people applying have around a 3.8+ and some of them are from other top 20 schools/Ivys. I would transfer as a junior, you’ll have time to boost your GPA above a 3.8. With that said, there are a few programs at certain Ivys that are much easier to transfer into (Cornell has a couple state funded programs that are a lot easier than CAS).

Just out of curiosity are you transferring because of the whole GWU false data/moved to unranked situation?

My bro went to GW & was in a frat. I’m guessing it’s no more than 1 in 5 (probably lower). Social life revolving around frats there is as low as I’ve seen anywhere…you’re in DC, get out more…I think you’re gonna hate Cornell/UVA/UPenn if you think GW revolves around fraternities.

As far as no campus…the school controls several square blocks of the city. No, there’s no rolling green fields, but you go to GW to be close to all the internship opportunities & to be on an urban campus.

If not being a part of dominant greek life is the reason you’re leaving GW, do yourself a favor and don’t consider Cornell. That’s why I’m trying to transfer out of here.

Heyy also a GW student here. For what it’s worth, my GPA is also a bit low, although my midterm report is pretty high. I feel like (or I hope) they’d be more lenient if you had a higher course load. and I know the CRs and Mock Trial are pretty busy, but with four courses they might think “Well, Anon could probably do more than that.” Did you get any good internships? Those would probably help a lot.
