3.86 GPA, top 4%... Tier 1 colleges?

Atm I have a 3.86 GPA (4.66 weighted) and am top 4% of my class. I'm taking the highest level courses (honors, AP isn't offered for us until jr. year). Bowling team, FBLA, S.C., Key Club, few more.

What can I expect to get into with this? I'd love Cornell but I doubt it. How about UCLA/Berkley? JHU? Georgetown? Mini ivies? I need some guidance as to what colleges I should be 'level' with.

PS ot sure about SAT’s btw, hoping/expecting anywhere from 1800-2000

I’m no expert, but with your GPA you definitely have a shot at Cornell. Try to get your SAT closer to at least 2200 if you can.

Your GPA’s fine for Cornell–not spectacular, but. How’s your leadership? Volunteer work, jobs? You’ll need impressive ECs to get in.

SAT should be 2200+. I would feel more comfortable with a 2250; obviously the higher the better.

4.66 GPA 96% tile… You go to a competitive school, so your grades are fine for Cornell.

Really? I thought it was a bit on the lower end. What about ACT’s (if I choose those over the SAT’s)?
What extra currics should I concentrate on?

ACTs…34+, I think. I’m not really an expert on the ACT.

Concentrate on whatever you find interesting. Pick an activity that you love (or two or three) and start taking initiative. Organize things! Get involved! Go go go!

If that’s your realistic range/expectations for the SAT, then no, T20 schools are not too likely.

An ACT of 33 puts you in the top quartile at Cornell where the middle 50% SAT range is 29-33. Keep in mind, though, that’s across all schools at Cornell; for Engineering or Arts & Sciences the figures are going to be somewhat higher (not sure how much). Also keep in mind that only 29% of freshman enrolling at Cornell submit the ACT.
