I am in quite a bit of a situation, would appreciate if someone helped me out!

The thing is, I have been educated according to the British system of education hence I have appeared for O and A Level exams which basically constitute the four years of high school.

I've got A A A A A B B B C in my O Levels.

Please note that an A is the highest grade obtainable and that their are no intermediate grades like A- or B-.

There is this official document released by my examining board that basically shows how you can denote O Level grades in terms of GPA.

However that document is for IGCSE grades (Equivalent to O Level, but a newer system) hence my grades in terms of IGCSE grades would be:

A* A* A* A* A* A A A B

Not making this up, here's the proof: http://www.cie.org.uk/docs/recognition/Recognition%20and%20Equivalency%20Help%20Pack%20Feb%2004.pdf

(go to page 9)

Moving on, my AS Level grades are:

A B B C C D

Now according to the British Council website, A Level courses are equivalent to AP courses. AP courses receive 1 extra point, right?

So in calculating my GPA:

(54) + (34) + (3.7) = 35.7
...for O Level grades.

(4.5) + (4.2) + (4.2) + (3.5) + (3.5) + (2.8) = 22.7
...for AS Level grades. Calculated in a similar fashion to O Level grades but added 0.5 to each subject. an AS Level is half an A Level, that would mean half a point.

Hence over all GPA (not counting the Senior year grades...will sit for the exams in May/June):

(35.7 + 22.7) / (9 + 6) = 3.89

Now HERE'S my problem. My school does NOT calculate our GPA. But the scale I used to calculate my GPA is supported by my examining board. The thing is, on first glance my grades seem to be awfully poor. I mean, Cs and Ds...come on. But a 3.89 GPA is pretty decent, right?

My question is. Will Texas A&M consider this? Or will I be put at a disadvantage and have my grades seen at the same level as that of a US high school student.

My SAT score is 1990, if that's of any relevance.
