3.9 GPA CC transfer student rejected from UCR

I am a business administration community college student who applied for transfer for fall 2022, I applied with a 3.93 GPA to UCR, UCI, UCB, and SDSU. I recently checked that I got rejected from UCR despite having a decent GPA. I don’t think it is my essay because I had it revised with my English teacher, and I have already completed the majority of my major’s prerequisites except for Calc2B which I am taking currently. So what could possibly be behind my rejection? I’ve already submitted an appeal but no response yet. As for UCI, UCB, and SDSU, what are my chances of getting in despite being rejected by UCR? Thanks!

Are you absolutely sure that you have completed all of the must-have course requirements?

Remember, if you used AP credit for them, the AP scores must be high enough based on the listings at the UC or CSU that you are applying to, and credit units for AP scores will be based on what UC or CSU gives.

I am absolutely sure I completed everything. Completed GE’s, passed 60 units, completed the major prerequisite, and did TAU. I can’t think of anything that got me rejected.

I think you can call admissions and they’ll go over the notes that the admissions officer left on your application. Hope this helps!

Talk with a transfer counselor at your school. My guess is you are missing some requirements.

Why didn’t you apply with TAG? As a CC student you only needed a 2.80 to be guaranteed admission to UCR School of Business according to Transfer Admission Guarantee | Apply | Undergraduate Admissions | UCR

The only excluded TAG majors are Art Studio and Sociology for Fall applicants according to University of California Counselors

There was another Transfer applicant, OOS that was rejected from UCR with a pretty high GPA. They found out that their AP Chemistry class did not meet the Chemistry transfer requirements and that was the reason for the rejection. Definitely call admissions and ask the reason.

Hi,
I got rejected from UCR as a transfer too. I had a 3.95 GPA and I applied as business admin as well. I honestly think that the major may just be impacted but I’m not sure. It has me nervous for the rest of the UC decision’s though. My counselor told me it might’ve been since I was missing Calc 2. I got into the CSU’s and LMU though, except for LB all for business.

Yeah honestly I think it was because you didn’t take calc 2 sooner. For the Business Admin major you’re supposed to take calc 2 latest before the end of the Fall you apply for so in this case Fall 2021 and since you took it during Spring it makes you ineligible for the major. But just apply for next year and make sure to get an A in the class.

Nah nvm I don’t know what I am talking about. All you need is Calc 1 for the Business Admin major at UCR lmaooo. But that sucks man are you sure you took the other 6 pre reqs for the major?
