Thank you for reading this. Please do me a favor and do your best to refrain from commenting on the personal dynamics to this situation. I can’t tell you how much I appreciate it!
I was going into my senior year of college and during my summer break got into a terrible fatal accident. In the state I was visiting, the state charges citizens with a felony whether or not they are under the influence. I was not, but was sentenced to 7 years in prison for a class 2 Manslaughter charge. The time is served now, and I can’t help but wonder if I should complete my degrees.
I had a 3.9GPA and was a part of several honor societies. I was double majoring in Accounting and Finance and was minoring in Economics.
My question: If I go back and complete the degrees, realistically, would I even be able to use them in my professional pursuit? I can’t justify spending the time and money so late in life if it won’t actually help me get a job in the industry. Can someone please be straightforward and let me know if this is ACTUALLY a possibility?
Thank you again so much for your help.
