3 "B"s in Junior Year. Did I just kill my chances at an Ivy?

As you can probably acertain from the title, I got 3 "B"s in my first semester of my Junior year of high school. Prior to this year I had a GPA of about a 4.0 or possibly a little higher but I made the mistake of taking three of the five hardest courses in my school in one semester, and subsequently got a B in all 3 classes. Does this, in itself, kill my chances at Ivy League schools and schools of a comparable level regardless of my other achievements, grades, and activities?

No, your chances are not dead. The Ivies and other top schools like to see that you take the hardest classes possible. you still must get a great SAT or ACT score and write a great essay and hopefully have something interesting to bring to the campus. Lot of people who get accepted to Ivy League schools had a few Bs. You don’t want any more though.
