Would I be allowed to use this quarter to take 3 courses (12 units) instead of the usual 4, even though I wouldn't be considered full-time? If it makes any difference, I transferred in my junior year. I would think as long as I am "on track" that it wouldn't matter how many units I took for w/e quarter. For the record, I currently have 119.5 completed units. I don't think I'd actually stick with just 3 courses, but it was just a thought.

Could you show me where it says 12 isn't considered full time? I've read things and called the financial aid office and I was told that 12 was full-time.

I was told 12 units is full time (minimum full time) as well.

Alright, it sounds like I have my information mixed up. Then where did I hear that a minimum of 13 units was considered full-time and for what? Perhaps, I'm thinking of financial aid.

It shouldn't be financial aid. I called the financial aid office and they told me 12 was considered full time (I had to make sure of this since I am getting aid),

We're on the 8th quarter, so by the end we should have completed 116 units which u already have more than that. 12 units for this quarter should be fine.
Actually I'm forced to take 12 units right now cuz I'm in waitlist for a course and the prof said there's no space.

I'm a junior transfer, and this is my 2nd 12 unit quarter in a row. I've calculated it, and I'm able to finish my degree requirements (Poli Sci) as well as complete a minor (Geography) without taking any 4-class quarters, with a class to spare. That's a total of 17 classes, 68 units- I'm short two classes to get to 180. Of course, I'm not going to do just the minimum, but this is the bare minimum that I have to take each quarter to remain full-time. And don't worry about getting mixed up- I've been hearing 13 and 12 as well, but I don't think the ECP is heavily enforced...correct me if I'm wrong.

How are your classes, nikkei? I'm taking just one Poli Sci- M114D w/ Wolfenstein and it's the most unique class I've ever taken. He brought in a guitar and sang a Bob Dylan song on the first day!

Wofenstein sounds like my mom and dad, lol! The Times They Are a Changin'!

oh jeez, do we need 180 units to graduate?

yup. btw, shirleyxY, i can't remember were you signed up for A&O Sci 104?

yes, I 'm on waitlist

oh, did he add anyone? how come my atoms 104 list isn't red anymore?

he might have added more people... our lecture room today was really small so we were moved to a larger room and he said he might be able to le tmore people into the class... but then again, someone might've dropped and given you their spot

Am I enrolled in the class???? Do I have to do anything??? I didn't go to class today. Any discussion session today?
thx!

and i wouldn't worry too much about lecture... it was primarily review on how to covert one unit into another unit and all the lecture notes are online. But i can't be sure about the discussion section b/c i haven't had mine yet though i would guess that nothing much happened b/c we haven't really covered anything.

if its not listed in red anymore on MyUCLA then you are enrolled

That's so weird. When I checked my study list in URSA, my status became "E", and then I clicked the name of the class, I'm still in waitlist

Number Enrolled 25
Enrollment Capacity 20
Number on Wait List 1
Wait List Capacity 5

Do I have to ask him for PTE number?

The lecture room has been changed to CS 50!! OMG!

What's his email address? I want to ask him if I'm really in the class! thx!
