3 on AP Chem = Nothing!

If someone gets a 3, 4, or 5 on the AP Chem test, they can skip Chem 1A (Gen Chem I) and take Chem 1B (Gen Chem II). People with a 4 or 5 can choose to take Chem 3A (Chemical Structure and Reactivity). People with a 5 can jump up to Chem 5 (Quantitative Analysis).

However, the Chem 1B is not offered this fall! Are people with a 3 screwed? What can 3ers take? Can they just take Chem 3A?

I took the AP Chem test this spring and still don't know my score. I did well enough for at least a 3, but if I didn't get a 4 or 5, does that mean I have to take Chem 1A... :(

If I were you, I would take something else that may satisfy my major and doesn't require Chem 1A, and wait until spring semester to take 1B. (Unless you're MCB/IB [like me], in which case you would HAVE to take Chem 1A-B before any other lower division prereqs, except Physics 8A [I think].)

However, I heard from personal opinions that even if one received a 3 on AP Chem exam, he/she should still take Chem 1A. I'm going to follow that advice, and not use my AP credit to skip 1A.
