3 or 4 classes for second quarter?

Hi,
I'm currently a freshman electrical engineer in the HSSEAS. Right now I'm enrolled in CS32 with Nachenberg, Math 32B with Gilmore, and Physics 1a with El Alaoui. What will my workload be like? Last quarter was my first time programming, and while it was difficult I learned a lot. Do you think it would be unwise to take another class of interest, perhaps philosophy?

Any opinions are greatly appreciated.

It will still be likely that you will lose sleep staying up completing the programming projects. At least all my roommates did when they took the CS classes. They often didn’t finish on time either. It sounds like most of the work that quarter will be directed towards CS. If you’re proficient in multivariable calculus and mechanics, 32B and 1A may not be too much work, but they’re still challenging enough classes. Yes, you can try taking a class for interest, but keep in mind deadlines to drop the class if you decide later you do not want to continue with it (mind impacted class deadlines), or keep in mind that you may be able to take that class on a Pass/Not Passed basis.
