3 SAT IIs

So this is what it says on the undergrad admissions page:

"Given the Early Action deadline of November 1, the Committee on Admissions recognizes that applicants may not be able to meet the SAT Subject Test requirements. Those candidates are welcome to submit an Early Action application, and the application will be considered complete and reviewed in its entirety. Candidates applying under the Early Action plan who have not yet taken three Subject Tests should still register to take the tests in the event they are deferred from Early Action to Regular Decision. If there are extenuating circumstances which prevent an applicant from submitting three SAT Subject Test scores, the applicant should provide a written explanation to the Committee on Admissions to be included with the application."

Just to make sure, does this mean that if I have taken 2 sat IIs (and do not plan to take more) I can apply EA and I will not be penalized at all? (I know that if I don't make it in EA, I'm screwed)

Thank ya!

anyone?? char

Yes. And it means if you are deferred EA to RD, you should take at least one more SAT II. So plan on that, just in case.

im kinda in the same boat. im planning on applying ea hoping to get in and not worry about sat2s because i havent taken any yet. i did sign up for two in november though because some of my rd schools require them but i wont have time to get a third in. i’m taking bio and us and i would have done spanish as my 3rd but its not offered in november and i cant take it in december because im having surgery so in the case of being deferred what should i do? The two options ive come up with are adding math when i take them in november or just sucking it up and taking spanish five days after surgery. or then again just trying my luck with two.

^dude that’s a tough situation. I think you should explain your circumstances to admissions. The RD round doesn’t begin until january, so admissions could compensate for you. I’m sure they’ll understand ;)
