3 schools?

OK so I'd originally decided on applying to 3 schools I might go to, but I only have one safety and I have no earthly idea if I'll get into my first 2 choices. What schools are sort of akin to Georgia Tech and Emory, you know, with a super academic environment in a large city, that doesn't require SAT subject scores?

Boston University
Tulane
Depaul
NYU
University of Chicago
Northwestern

None of these are safeties.
Your safety is not going to meet all your criteria. In addition, you need to be at/above their 75th percentile - so what are your stats?

I’m not looking for safeties, im cool with mine and already have a spot. I’m looking for another few (2 or so) match schools in case I don’t get into Ga tech or emory…
2190 sat
4.0 gpa
8 to 9 aps, 10 honors classes
Rank fluctuates between 1 and 3, we have a very competitive class at a large public school
Good # of ecs, track, cc, volunteer work, leader and teacher at local masjid for 4 to 5 yrs and some other nonmajor ones

Boston University sounds pretty good, I’ve checked that out

Seconding suggestions in #1 although UChicago and Northwestern are reach for everyone and polar opposite.
U Miami, Virginia Tech (not in a city but a college town so not isolated either), Pitt (you’re right on the limit for Honors but I think you have a shot due to GPA + course rigor).

Without knowing your stats, it is hard to say what would be a safety and I’m guessing your preference is to stay in the south so Tulane and UMiami might work. If you want to come north look at Fordham and GW as well.

I posted my stats up there in #3… and I’m don’t mind being north so long as it’s a major urban area, which is why I’m not keen on going to Louisiana or Florida

What is your financial situation? have you run net price calculators on all of your options, and the ones that are sounding good on this thread?

Err; you realize that Miami and New Orleans are MAJOR cities (not just cities, but HUGE ones?) I guess I don’t understand “so long as it’s a major urban area, which is why I’m not keen on going to Louisiana or Florida”?

Have you run the net price calculators?

But the networking opportunities in those cities don’t compare to those in Atlanta, Boston or New York
Money isn’t an issue, or at least we don’t qualify for financial aid. Ever.

Sorry I missed the stats. Maybe also consider BC and USC.
