SAT Subject Tests

Hi so Im wondering how important is it for me to take 3 subject tests for Georgetown. Ive done quite well on 2 (770 physics and 800 on math 2). How big of a deal will it be if I don’t take a third subject test?

Any feedback

Highly recommended but not required. Don’t worry about 3. Georgetown dropped the 3 requirement when everyone else did, but modified the wording to make it appear they need 3. Rest easy and enjoy rest of your senior year.

I wouldn’t be so sure. I know 3 subject tests aren’t required for EA, but I don’t think RD is the same. When I had the chance to speak to an ad com, they said there’s a large difference between “optional” and “recommend”.

Yes, that’s a very good way to put it.

Does Admissions expect the vast majority of their RD competitive applicants to have taken three (or more) SAT Subject Tests? Yes. Are there any number of circumstances in which someone will not have taken three SAT Subject Tests and is still admitted RD? Sure. But the process is hard enough as it is without needless making it any harder on yourself.

I’m sure that anyone who got a 770 and an 800 on two SAT IIs could achieve a competitive score on a third…
