wow, vadox6466.... HOW?!! I have a 30 now, (a junior) but I struggle in Math and science. TELL ME THE SECRETS OF YOUR WAYS!!! ; )
congratulations everyone. Let us toast.

how would one go about getting a 12 on the writing portion of the test?
i am a great writer and still got an 8. grr

HarvardBound- about 90% of the writing grade is based on length of essay. Write fast!

NOO..... gasps are you kidding me???
wow. i had no idea. that's incredibly unfair!
but honestly, how could someone grade you on a scale of 2-12 on your opinion? hmm... thanks though, really. I will get that #2 in the wind! ; )

Yeah, it's really sad that they grade mostly on length. I wrote an epistomologically sound essay, which was full of insight. I used very technical grammar (gerunds, participles, infinitives, appositives, complex/compound complex sentances). This essay was 4 paragraphs in length, and it was during the 12/2007 SAT. I was ****ed that I only got an 8.....

On the ACT, I basically didn't care about my writing score. I made a generic 5 paragraph essay that was only simple and compound sentances. Basically, it sucked a lot. When I received a score of 9, I was dumbfounded.

Basically, write like you've never written before and fill up all 4 pages they give you. You will receive a score of 11 or 12 easily with this method.

34! yay i'm so happy ...
june --> 32
oct --> 33
dec --> 34
i'm on a streak ...

I dont know about the length thing
Mine wasn't very long at all

But all I did was present an idea, and support it with a personal story, or a theory, or whatever. And Somehow got a 12. I was expecting 8-9
My first time i got an 11
then a 10
then a 12
or seomthing like that?

Look at the like... What you did good on your essay or whatever, apparantly thats what they look for
