This is gonna be a big load, but I'm not worried. They're spread out across 3 colleges. Has anyone else pulled off a load like this?

Berkeley City:
-English 1A
-Math 203 (Intermediate Algebra)
-Portugese 1A
-Cultural Anthropology (PACE)-only meets 6 times during the semester. Professor is EASY!
-Hist 7B-US History Post Reconstruction- w/ my fave teacher. EASY! (1x a week, too)

Chabot
-Hist 2- Western Civilization Post Renaissance (1x a week)

City College San Francisco
-Intro to Linguistics
-African History (telecourse)
-Latin American History B (telecourse)

Those classes don’t look too hard, but I hope your highly organized and dedicated because you’ll need it with the amount of classes you have. Do you plan to work or participate in a internship in that semester?

22 units is the most units i’ve taken in one semester. However, I was taking courses like physics, chemistry, math, and 2 GE courses that semester so I had my fill of fun.

I’m highly organized, but I’ve had 2 of the teachers before and I know how they operate and they’re not hard. The cultural anthro class only meets 6 Saturdays.

The only class I feel I’ll really have to buckle down for is Math, English, and Portugese.

I attend Chabot right now as well and I see that you’re taking History 2 with Stephens. He’s one of the most laid back professors and the way he structures the class, theres no way you can get lower than an A unless you completely miss out on the book write ups and presentation. I already took him for History 1 and 2 and taking World History with him next semester.

As for your semester load, your classes don’t look too intimidating and if you’re really motivated, then you should have no problems surviving the semester.

If you don’t have a job and keep up with the work(as stated above) you should be fine.

I think I could handle that semester if I really had to, and I think a lot of people on the board could if they meet the conditions of the prior sentence.

If it gets too hard just drop before the W deadline. You have a few weeks to predict how much time you’ll need.

Background knowledge always helps with History too. The desire to learn it helps more, because if you don’t like history or languages that schedule would be torture.

That looks doable if all the teachers are rated good/easy and have favorable grade distributions. I never did a semester like that, but one could if they manage time well.

Good luck- if I were you I’d also check out the SMCCD (Canada, San Mateo, Skyline) since its within driving distance for you and has easy classes.

I’m taking 25 units right now and i’m also in student government (officer), Alpha Gamma Sigma (officer), and Phi Beta Lambda. And assistant manager at my job. Some people people think i’m crazy but when you’re motivated to finish then it is not a problem just sacrifice some stuff like partying in the weekends. However, towards final it gets pretty rough because everything is thrown at you all at once.

im at chabot and i think that you can take a lot of those classes just at chabot. have u looked into online classes? Im taking online history (post reconstruction) online and it is super easy. You are going to hate life having to commute from the city to berkeley then hayward and back and having to pay that toll.

I got things to accomplish. When I transfer, I don’t want to have to take any lower division classes. I wanna have everything knocked out for my double major and minor.

i live live in oakland, so everything is easy to get to on bart and with my bike.

the commute on bart to the city is only 20 minutes. i hate online classes btw. i’ve tried them and always dropped them. i like telecourses because i’m just watching dvds and doing written work.

I say bad idea, you’ll be spread so thin you won’t be learning anything… you’ll just be preparing for tests, and when a bunch of them start to fall in line with eachother your going to suffer. I did 19 units with a full time job this semester and I will NEVER do it again. unless youre not worried about a 4.0, then no problem. but if you want a 4.0 with that courseload… hope you have some speed or a portable coffee maker. rofl

Don’t have my History 2 syllabus since I took it my first semester (Spring 2008). I can definitely send you the History 1 syllabus since I’m taking it right now. It’s basically the same thing Grade and Structure-wise except for the textbook and required reading. Send me a PM and I can send it to you or answer any other questions.

if you’re truly motivated, then you should be able to do it. honestly, the courses don’t seem too difficult… it’s not like you’re taking o-chem. and you’re sooo lucky that you guys have saturday courses lol
