35 ACT good enough for MIT?

Yes, it's in their top 25% of all accepted people with ACT

We meet again, brave soul...

Obviously a 35 is an excellent score. But make sure to take some SAT II's and AP tests and maybe the SAT too.

There are no colleges in the U.S. where a 35 ACT would not be "acceptable".

However, an ACT alone with not other test scores might not be enough, even though it is excellent.

my school offers very few AP's, so i'm kind of low on SAT II's to take

Your ACT 35 is great. If you have absolutely nothing better to do, you could do the Math IIC, I suppose. Take the test in Real SAT II's and see if you need to polish anything. If you had a good chemistry course, you could also take that in the Real SAT II's and see how you did. Many students on this forum did very well with only a year of honors chemistry.

With a 35, the only thing you can hope for is a community college at best.

This topic's only purpose had to be for the ego......

You don't have to take AP classes in a certain subject to take an SAT II on them.

rickpaul80 only ever posts things to fuel his own ego.

Man, that's 187 ego-trips (rickpaul's current post count)

no it's not really good enough
in the book written by the mit admissions officer he writes that usually this places you in the low category and you need to be
exceptional to get in with a score like that

rickpaul always makes threads to boost his ego

it's getting old now though

Actually a 35 is inferior. Without a 36, MIT won't accept you and you'll be doomed to your local community college. Actually, I just got finished reading an article online in which an MIT adcom said that MIT will no longer accept 36s. Now you'll have to do the impossible and get a 37.

end sarcasm

A 35 will not grant you admission to MIT. It is only one piece of the application. There are many people that apply to schools like MIT with 35's and 36's that get rejected. You have to be strong in every area.

I would give an SAT score instead

hell no, a 35 isn't good enough for MIT...

i know this because i got a 35, and was waitlisted.

...i was being sarcastic... true story tho

People with big egos are destined to fall.........
